[1.23] PE flak reinforce button
« on: September 15, 2010, 01:53:15 PM »
I've been wondering why the PE weapon emplacements (88 and flakvierling) can't reinforce from a half-track or field base if close enough. Would the game balance really be thrown off that much by giving these units the reinforce button like infantry and other smaller weapons (Pak38, MG42, etc)?

Also, if an offset to having this ability is deemed necessary, would it be possible to adjust the rate of fire/reload times depending on how many crew are left manning the weapon?

A thing I didn't noticed yet, but now you told me: Why can't we reinforce positions? Especially against Soviets, a PE-emplacement-crew is very fast decimated.
I don't think it would destroy balancing either, therefore, why not?

 * I had noticed.
 - Same for Wehr - FLAK88. Can't reinforce. Should.

 * Another thing, different but same topic.
 Why can't units which are garrisonned but within range
 of recrew (HQ, Wehr Def Bunker, Outlying Barracks, etc,
 Soviet Outpost)... reinforce?

 - Soviets should have auto-reinforce autocast option.
 And I did say option. Make it work like lockdown, I don't
 know. It would make them different.
You know, there are many people in the country today who, through no fault of their own, are sane. Some of them were born sane. Some of them became sane later in their lives. It is up to people like you and me who are out of our tiny little minds to try and help these people overcome their sanity

Because that ability isn't given to EGroups units like the brit mortar and the flak88, the same when you garrison in a building or a trench, that infantry are converted in a EGroup unit and when they exit the building to reinforce or whatever becomes neutral again, the same principle could apply for the forementioned units but have that propery disabled by default, but I don't know if possible to reinforce them without ungarrison them though.

"...that infantry are converted in a EGroup unit and when they exit the building to reinforce..."

Would it instead be possible then to have the crew 'abandon' the emplacement to reinforce (like regular infantry) and then recrew the weapon? Gameplay-wise this would mean a bit more babysitting, but this might also present the PE Luftwaffe with something new - an emplacement that is repairable by its own crew... which actually kinda makes sense to me.
