This has ideas borrowed from everyone, as imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I use trucks for the Ostheer, as mobility was key on the Russian front, and a Static HQ would be quickly left behind, or overwhelmed in the fluid mobile battles.
Ost Command TruckMain troop deployment building, deploys starting troops.
OstPioneer: heavy four man troops, equipped with MP 40s.
Upgrades: Flammenwerfer 42
Bangalore Torpedo
Nahverteidigungswaffe Grenade Pistol.
http://www.custermen.net/nahvert/nah.htm [nofollow]Kübelwagen with MG 34. Can replace MG 34 with Solothurn S-18/1000 20 mm Anti-Tank Cannon.
Schützen TruckMain Production truck, makes infantry and light tanks.
Landser Squad: five man squad, Kar 98 K.
Upgrades: MG 34
Panzerbüchse 39 AT Rifle
120mm Granatwerfer 42: with 3 man crew.
Panzer II L Luchs: a light tank with the overcharged engine ability
Sdkfz 251/22 Pakwagen: a powerful tank destroyer, though with very weak armour, and the ability to camouflage itself.
Panzer Assault TruckDeploys tanks and troop halftracks.
PanzerJäger Squad: four men, with 2 Panzerbüchse 39 AT rifles
Upgrades: Replace AT Rifles with Panzershrecks
Add Panzerfaust 250
Sdkfz 7: Unarmoured halftrack which can carry troops and guns.
Sdkfz 251/21 Drilling: a 251 half track fitted with three 15mm heavy machine guns, used for Anti-Air duties.
Panzer III Ausf J (Early): Main German battle tank of the early war years. Obsolete by 1944, it still soldiered on, and gained a reputation for reliability.
Jagdpanzer IV 70: a heavily modified Stug IV, the Jagdpanzer IV has thicker armour and the deadly 75mm L70 Panther gun. can fire precision Tread Breaker rounds.
Nashorn/Hornisse: mobile AT Gun fitted with the devastating long 88mm PaK 43, capable of killing any Russian tank, even the new Stalin II. it's weaknesses are thin armour and slow speed. can 'Lock Down' to increase it's Range and RoF.
Armoury TruckAll research upgrades come from this truck.
Armoured Cab: increases the health of the Sdkfz 7.
Surprise strike: Infantry can camouflage themselves
APCBC: Increases the AT of the Nashorn/Hornisse
Only one of these abilities can be researched. Either
50mm KwK 38 L60 – Triples the AT ability of the Panzer III
75mm KwK 37 L24 – Triples the HE ability of the Panzer III
DoctrinesArmy Group NorthArmy Group North was involved in the 900 day siege of Leningrad, and this doctrine emphasizes artillery and static defences.
Artillery SupportPre-ranged Artillery: Allows mortars and artillery to go on overwatch.
The Germans had a sneaky habit of pre-ranging their artillery on their own positions, and abandoning them just before the Russians overran them, then unleashing a storm of fire on the surprised Russians.
105mm LeFh18: Construct a 105mm Howitzer.
The 105mm was the standard German field artillery piece, and over 6986 leFH 18s and 10265 leFH 18/40s were manufactured during the war, adding to those already in service in 1939.
Fire in the Sky: calls in a Panzerwerfer 42 Maultier Armoured rocket launcher.
The Panzerwerfer 42 was an armoured half-tracked rocket launcher, similar to the Katyusha. It mounted 10 150mm rockets behind the armoured cab. Around 300 were produced
Static DefencesS Mines: Allows Pioneers to construct Anti-Infantry S-Mines, known by the allies as ‘Bouncing Betty’s’.
Dugout: OstPioneers can construct dugouts, which are part slit-trench, part bunker. They can be armed with various weapons, like the MG34, or the 37mm Pak 36.
Ostwallturm: OstPioneers can build Panther turret Bunkers.
The Panther Turret bunker was first built in Russia, using the turrets of battle-damaged Panthers. Soon the design was adopted in the west, using turrets diverted from tank production.
Army Group CentreArmy Group Centre was the scene of the largest tank battles on the Russian front
Luftwaffe OperationsFlaK Nests: Construct a Quad 2cm flak Bunker.
To protect their flak guns, and yet still allow them to provide fire support, the Germans would place 2cm quad anti-aircraft guns on the roofs, attics, or the top floors of buildings. This tactic allowed the guns to fire at Soviet aircraft as well as providing direct firepower against assaulting infantry. By sand bagging and fortifying the house, the Flak Nest was protected against all but heavy calibre high explosives.
Fighter Interception: Me109 fighters intercept enemy attack planes.
Stuka Strike: The Feared JU87 Stuka dive bombers strike from the sky, pinning all enemies within a certain area.
Panzer Vor!Improvised Armour: all German tanks gain schurzen, increasing defence against infantry attack
Funklepanzer: the Armoury Truck can now build the Borgward BIV Demo Tank.
The B IV Radio controlled Demo Charge was designed so that it could be driven by an on board crew man within a safe distance of its intended target. It was then radio controlled for the remainder of the distance to the target where the explosive pack on the front could be released before the vehicle was withdrawn and the explosives detonated.
Jagdpanzer Ferdinand: call in a single Jagdpanzer P Ferdinand/Elefant.
Army Group SouthInvolved in the battles for Sevastopol, Rostov and Stalingrad, This doctrine is best for urban fighting
Flame SupportBurn them out!: OstPioneers get two flame throwers.
Flamm Bombs: equips all infantry with slow burn flame grenades (See Fallschirmjager in OF)
Flammpanzer III: call in a Flammpanzer III Flame Tank
Building bustersHESH: guns are armed with High Explosive Squash Head rounds, which are more effective against buildings.
Demo Charges: all infantry units can now lay demolition charges.
SturmPanzer IV Brummbär: calls in a powerful Brummbär assault gun.
The Ostheer can capture and use Russian Weapons (there are many thousands of cases of captured Russian weapons being used by the Germans, take the 120mm mortar for example. It was so good; the Germans copied it and used it themselves!)
Farther updates to come.
