MaxiKing and MonolithicBacon's "Frankenstein" Map Pack!
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:00:15 PM »
So as some of you may have seen, Maxi and myself have started yet another project, ready to be worked on while our "World Fronts" pack is reaching post-production.

So, we bring to you:

"Frankenstein" Map Pack!

By bringing together the very best of Company of Heroes' maps, we intend to make maps by splicing them together, breathing new life to the maps you have known and loved for years!

So, while we have the first few maps in production, we want to know what you think!
Which two maps would you love to see spliced together?

Here's a list of maps we have:

Best with Oosterbeck?

St. Hilaire with Gilroy's Harbour?

Rails and Metal with Etavaux?

The possibilities are endless! Please, let us know what you think, and you never know, your idea may be created!

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the latest achievement of today's cosmetic surgery:

Semachelous River (4)

This map combines the best of Semois (2) and Achelous River (4). Its bridges and territory sectors have been re-balanced, it underwent a few minor cosmetic changes, too.

Interesting concept, guess I'll suggest a few

Ango and Langres (could make a nice 2v2)

Lorraine and Wolfheze (Always love battling from rural to urban)

Industrial Riverbed and Beaux Lowlands (Because Beaux Lowlands needs to man the fuck up)

And my contribution to today's releases:

Lyonderdam ( 8 )

Merging Lyon (4) with Hinderdam (2), we have a very bridge-orientated map, allowing 8 players to fight on several fronts, where destruction, dividing and conquering are the best route to success!

While in the 8 player version, teams fight across the central river, as before, the 6 player version will fight widthways, rather than lengthways.

The edge of the city, and the beginning of countryside

The water treatment plant, viewed from the canals beyond the city limits.

New, wider bridges to reach beyond the previous edge of the map, into Hinderdam!

Below is the download link for the sgb version of the 6 player map:
http://speedy.sh/GHgpU/6p-lyonderdam.zip

This version plays lengthways across the map, and is perfect for sieges.

And below here is the download link for the sgb version of the 8 player map:
http://speedy.sh/NrDC3/8p-lyonderdam.zip

This version plays widthways, and is nothing short of chaotic.

Will definitely be considered! There's certainly no way around a good rural to urban map.. ;)

hi, nice project but how can i change your*.sgb maps to *.sga? This convertertool (http://companyofheroes.filefront.com/file/;106611) doesn't work on windows 8.

Any idea?

I always believe in "Less is more" but lets see where this is going :p

Btw I have a suggestion, your new maps are nice Bacon however I think there are too many obstacles, objects in the maps- navigation is not good and games becoming campy and pathing is very problematic. I suggest you to rework on them again, make a "Spring cleaning" ; )'

I say this because after we've  tried them in multi games, we still prefer the Vanilla EF maps after all. :/

Out of interest, which maps are you specifically referring to?
