hello, i have read the thread on this forum about you looking for some good maps for the EF mod and i thought i could give it a try  ;) what you will see is just an example on how the rest of the map would look like. the name "exitium", the latin name for "ruin". it has been choosen on purpose. the map will litteraly be a ruin, well dont get it wrong i dont mean that it will be a ruin in the sense that it will totally suck but you know what i mean  ;D.
here are some screenshots of it. i want to remid you that this is work in progress and changes can be easily made  :) so i await some suggestions and critics.

Interesting map, I look forward to seeing the completed version.

sorry, i didnt see that the name has to be one of an historic battle, i will find a new name asap. i am thinking of "Rostov".

It can be anywhere on the Eastern Front where fighting took place, so long as it isn't in Asia (don't think the Germans got that far, and we're not adding the Japanese).

Rostov might work though, I don't think we have a Rostov yet.

no, you are right, the german didnt got that far (asia). i once saw in a film that they wanted to get to the oilfields of the middle east but they got defeated at stalingrad. as for the name.. if it isnt occupied and you agree i will rename it to rostov

I would recommend increasing the distance between buildings for the sake of gameplay.
CoH pathfinding gets messed up very often.
Escpecially with the ammount of wrecked vehicles.

OMG!!! incredible map and is just WiP,can't wait for final release,the last screenie looks like a good place to defend...or...attack hehe...

@hartkeks: i have increased the space between some buildings (where i could). but i asure you that infantry does not have any problems with pathfinding. but i dont know for armour ... anyway, what you see in the screenshots its the least "tankfriendlier" part of the map. the most tankbattles will be taken in the south of the map where fields and less ruins are located
@gamerisin: thanks ;). yes you are right, what you see on the last screenshot is where a +16 fuel (edit: ammo, not fuel) will be placed
@all ;D: i have a new screenshot. you can see a ruined city on it. this is also the part of the map where tanks will have troubles (ruins, small roads, blockades)


edit: armor and vehicles have no problem between the ruins.

Yeah, it's very nice. Definitely make it a snow map when you're done.  ;D

My friends and I play infantry battles no tanks allowed! It's so much fun.  It involves A LOT of tactics.

You can make the map difficult for tanks, but don't make it impossible for them.

no, if you will read the whole replys on this thread you will see that i have said that i am only showing screens of this certain part of the map that isnt very good for tanks. its germany vs russia, how could i ignore tank battles? ;)

dont worry, the map will be tankfriendly but not in the places shown on the screenshots. its hard to manover in a ruined city and some parts are for big tanks (panther) inaccessible

Ah I could use it as an infantry safe haven!!!!! Yeah your enemy can't just send in 3 or 4 tanks and get you he will have to flush you out in urban combat brilliant!! Cool now I get it! ;D
