Get some Panzerschreck Grens or storms and vet them,is2 is bad vs infantry.
This is what I do but losing 4 Gren squads is not an option. Im currently learning how to micro 2 tanks effectively and simultaneously. 2 Panthers is the best way to go. The players I fight are extremely good at tank micro. They can take down 2 of my Panthers with 1 IS-2. He can take my Nashorn and my AT guns gets killed by the guards/mortars/firebase. I have some improvment by killing IS-2s with 2 Panthers but usually I lose both.

IMO with tank micro, just master control grouping, and also how to backpedal if needed and it'll be enough. With tanks (and CoH in general), its more about deciding whether to engage or not that matters most. Think of it like a Texas Holdem game, where the good tank commanders usually decide to either fold or just go all in. If you add in infantry with your tank charges, you got yourself a full house instead of just a pair of kings (just tanks). Try not to do half-ass tank charges (call and then fold) too much. When its time to show hand, if you have a stronger hand than him, you'll win 90% of the time, provided you're not a total noob with the units. That's my own personal CoH philosophy in general. It's important to know that what I call "Decisive Battle Doctrine" is just my own personal playstyle, and there's plenty more ways to play CoH. I'm just trying to give some suggestions here I never lose at the casino btw.
Huh?What Yauz says about committing your tanks is true. Either go in or don't. If you go in a bit and back out he will know where your tanks are and they will take unnecessary damage. Reversing tanks properly is an essential skill for when you need it. Not sure if I agree about group micro though.
I'm glad the Tiger Ace got buffed (thank god it was now beast) once you get it, they counter IS2s and even the IS3 pretty well especially if you spam their 'Ace Shot' ability you can kite them even then.
