I must have Kummersdorf on my mind... Go figure.

And I forgot about that objective! So, you're thinking that this map is set after the campaign mission, huh?

Could be! Would give an explanation for the high amount of T-34-wrecks :P

On that thought, I take it that it'll be a long while before we get Ostheer wrecks?

And once again, here we are!

With the exception of the atmosphere settings, Freedom Square is done!

This has been a very enjoyable project, especially with it being part of the up and coming Kharkov campaign map. It is a taster of things to come!

Anyways, here are a few shots:

The finished minimap.

The crumbling towers, north of the square.

The plaza, at the far end of the square, reinforced and rubble-strewn.

Bombed to dust, further north.

Freedom Square.

Enjoy!

Let me know if you see anything that I have not, as per usual!

My Official Review of Freedom Square(2)

After extensively testing it(20+ times now). I can say that this map is built very well. When moving troops through the more condensed top section of the map it just feels right. They move through without getting stopped by rubble. It makes for really fun engagements, with lots of cover and buildings to garrison in. The middle area is crafted insanely well. It can be easy or hard to attack/defend. But with the right defenses it can be held or with the right attack force easily taken(Ask Bacon about Soviet Blob). The lower portion of the map is still really well made. It had less buildings than the upper section, but it still just feels...right. There is good cover and also makes for fun engagements. It's safe to say that Bacon knows what he is doing and is a very talented mapper. I highly suggest that this map make it into the next "map pack"
