With 12 you'll get a rifle if you want or not. 40% are paid by the local gun club, 60% by the government AFAIK. Switzerland has no army, they are an army.

I can't tell if you are telling the truth or lying for fun . Cause if that's true, I worry what will happen in Switzerland when a riot breaks out O_O. Oh the gun driven horror

Switzerland is actually a fairly safe country from what I hear. No, they forcibly deliver you a gun.

This is probably why Switzerland hasn't been in a bloody war since 1815 with France. They've remained neutral ever since, however are still home to the Swiss Guard whom fought for independent Italian nations until the 1860s...
