THQLynx on the Official CoH forum insists that CoH isn't going to be pay-to-win, XP and Unit boosts won't affect PvP matches (and XP itself is 'purely cosmetic'...). If anything, it seems to me as if they're just fishing for pre-orders from people who think these things give them some advantage.

He also mentioned that they're still 'Looking into' Modding and Worldbuilder.

Maps and Skins should get bought, so why they should allow modding?  ???

Maybe they don't want to lose the community that generates revenue for them by means of buying the game to mod it?

Hmm Why not? I'm sure many people will not bother to surf in forums to download skins, soundpacks etc but buy it from the official site if the price doesn't hurt that much. It's like, you can buy a phone case from a local shop or from Applestore for your Iphone. It's customer's choice that all. Nothing seems weird to me.

You can't create a phone case yourself. Well, you could try, but it would be shit, so you're better off buying one. Nor would phone case manufacturers say you couldn't 'modify' your case once you get bored with it just because it's in their interests that you bought a new one.

Actually I was trying to say that Relic would allow modding but they would have these products for sale as well. At the end, Mods keep the life of the game longer because they re-invent the game every time. That's why I don't think that they will prevent community creativity. I just don't expect them to allow after 1 week of the release- maybe few months maybe a year later I guess.

Yep, that seems most likely, 6 months to a year seems reasonable if this is the route they're going. I think the aim would be to delay modding enough that they can make money on DLC's or expansions without having to compete with their own community, but not so long that players begin to get bored and leave the game.

After some reading I think they extremely overpowered Soviets. I wonder how it's gonna be the balance.

In fact, if they were only creating EF without new engines and platforms the gameplay will be sooo crappy , that this good mod will become the best.
