Who will pay for a different skin of a unit to be used in campaign games? They have to completly shut down modding support for this game.

You'll be able to pay for DLC, Skins and Maps using ingame currency according to the Relic forums. DLC... Skins... Maps...

Essentially, it doesn't mess with PvP in any direct way, what you pay for is DLC and presumably any unbalanced units that come with it. Also, Maps... I don't even.. unless they withhold WorldBuilder from us, I can't see them fleecing many people that way. I'd extend this to skins as well... the only way they could possibly make money from skins is if they totally block any modding, which would be fucking absurd.

You seem to forget how stupid greedy people can be. Obviously this is no longer a labor of love as much as a labor for money. TO blatantly rip-off EF may be the highest form of flattery, but it is also the sign of laziness and lack of interest and brainstorming in what they are doing. This is a money game now.

Well atm the game is in pre-order and you can buy the collector edition which gives some skins, badge etc. After watching Hans stream, I am sure they will not be short of nerds to pay for such things.

If CoH2 will be a "pay 4 play" game it's senseless pay 50€ now for pre-order if you must pay every month for your subscription.

More sense we have in something like World of Tanks (note: I hate every game where I must pay periodically) where the download it's free but if you want great thing (in this case big tanks) and stuff you must pay, but IMHO it's not a "style" good for a game like CoH!
