Is it possible to implement a High-Resource mode?
« on: February 23, 2012, 04:19:46 AM »
I know that this wouldn't necessarily be balanced and would only be for fun, but would it be too hard to implement a high-resource, no pop-cap mode because when I play, I can't help but feel that I generate underwhelming battles compared to many massive ones seen on historical TV programs and such. I would love if I could make like 20 T-34s on Kursk and storm the opposing forces of the Reich equipped with 5 Tigers or something. Idk but I just think it would be fun.

You mean like increased resource income?

Well, good luck combating your upkeep  ::)

I don't know if it's possible, I'm sure it is though. Just play a bridgy or campy like map, OP all the points, go AFK for for 20 minutes, come back and enjoy!

I guess I could try that.... I did that on Blitzkrieg Mod on Lyon 2P once. All my shermans vaporized in the fact of a jagdpanther at the edge of the bridge...

But I'm just wondering how difficult would it be if you programmed a new game-type with
1. No popcap
2. 3x resources
3. No upkeep

Its the ultimate formula for noobness but if it wouldn't take longer than a few hours to do, would it be unreasonable to ask for such a thing? ???

Also, I'm guessing it might be difficult to program it in but could there be a removal (for the game-type) of certain unit caps vehicles so you could make like 3 ISU-152s or 10 Katyushas?

sounds like no fun, but is you want to, you could make your own mod. i hope EF will not implement this new game type, it will only take players away from competitive gaming.

Kursk battle was no massive battle. It was a slaughter when the soviet armour pushed into a own tankditch and could be easily shot by german armour.

You can mod your own EF by using Corsix for it. Delete all mp upkeep and pop costs of tanks.

You could always start with the option of high resources rather than standard (so you would get like 1200 mp instead of like 400mp). Or play Angoville Challenge where there is like IS-3s everywhere. Just OP all your points and take a little break. You'll have a pretty large MP ;D

sounds like no fun

It could be fun to other ppl ::). I'd honestly like to see a large tank battle (but not just IS-2s and Panthers spammed everywhere ::))

Om Nom Nom Nom
"Panzer-Guppy ready for battle!"
"Ha Ha Ha! We have the ZEAL!"
"Grenadiers! Fall In!!"
