first question i have is about the map stalingrad, i have found this map harder than any other map i have played and am wondering is there something done to the map to make it harder than intended, or is it just a bug?

second question is why does the sniper have to be upgraded to act like any other sniper?

The sharpshooter is the way it is so you can choose which way you want to specialise him. He can become a Sniper like the other factions' at the same cost, or the Spotter team. Soviets have a lot of units already and since the units are built on the same base unit, it makes sense to combine them into the branched upgrade.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

IMO the time it takes to build a sniper is too short. Once it come out of your barracks (or w/e that building is called) you'll have around 150mp. As the sniper walks to the front line it can simply upgrade, meaning that SU can deploy thier snipers faster. And if the sniper is walking towards the front lines and suddenly dies, youonly lose 140 mp and not as much time. If it were US or Wher, you'd lose like 340 mp and alot of building time.

I think the map is so large and there is such a lack of both cover and buldings tat it becomes hard to secure teritory easily.

Against an AI that's not a map issue.

Stalingrad is a huge map. Takes troops a long time to seek each other out. In PvP while I'm not a fan of the map I wouldn't say it's easier or harder than any other map that we play. Vehicle pathing is a bit odd but it's ok

This is a good point but we'd already considered it. The Sharpshooter build time + Sniper upgrade time is longer than the US sniper build time to compensate. It can still get to the front lines a little faster but you must also remember that Soviet snipers hit the field later than Wehr or US Snipers.

Unless there is an immediate rush for snipers bypassing the RAMT first.

But even then, building the building, teching up, getting the sharpshooter, and getting the sniper is still slower than getting a sniper from either WQ or WSC
