Far too much realism for my taste. Sounds like crap to me :'(.

Basically this. This is why we hate bridge maps: You get your brand new fancy Tiger on the bridge and it suddenly blows up and there goes your tiger.

Same thing with their ice method. You have a simple shreck squad stand guard on an iced river and wait for a couple T-34s/IS-2 to come by and kill them all in a single shot.

Troops die from not being too close to a FHQ? (Fire, in this case) That's screwy.

I'm glad I'm sticking with EF.

From all I read - flamers can burn tank crews ; tanks can go under the ice ....  I will not build tanks in CoH2  ;D

It's 100% like a bridge. Only it self repairs in a couple of minutes.

I'm just going to spam flamethrowers. Keeps troops warm. Burns tank crews. Burns weapon crews.  Burns houses. Burns churches. Burns cover. Burns Troops. Burns Blobs. Burns Elite Armor. Burns Ice. Burns HQ. Burns Danko. Burns everything.

You might actually want to read some of all those previews as you're rather spouting a bunch of half-truths. No you don't need to keep troops at camp fires. That is just one way of doing things. Troop transports, cover and buildings also offer the same benefits.

As for flamethrowers, no they only roast the crews who are exposed in their vehicles, like the crews of SU-76s.

And i find the idea that people will just wait at the ice with a solitary unit just to shoot at it in case something crosses it to be a bit silly :P "Oh Hi Fritz, yes you just cross the ice. What all of these grenades and munitions here ? No, i wouldn't throw that over the ice.. Surely not, and this campfire indicating i have been waiting here all the time ?.. No.. that's for my brother Boris and his mortar crew. Yeah i know it looks silly, but why don't you cross the ice instead of just going around it ? Nothing's going to happen here. I promise !"

So perhaps calm down and think things through a bit, perhaps take time to read some more articles ?

I have read some of it. Or at least the ones they leave on GR.org.

Ummm you can lay demolitions and not have to stay put. The demolition still let you see whats around it. For example if you wire a bridge you can still see troops walking across it. Or if u wire a bunker. You can see a soldier tank go past it. Thats why wiring a bridge happens so often and so effectively. If you see a KT you're going to blow the bridge. You're not going to wait. The same can happen to ice. Now will they leave this aspect of being able to se whats near the demolitions? Maybe maybe not but for now I assume they will.

In addition some ppl send units to paces and dont actually pay attention as to where they went cause something else pops up and it diverts their attention.

As for the whole demolition bit. You're assuming that ice will somehow function exactly like a bridge, that is ,you can wire demolitions to it. Never mind that you  can't cross most ice if any with stuff like say a King Tiger or tiger tank. Different ice has different breaking points.

I like that different map environments are used for different gameplay mechanics. At least fresh wind in gameplay.

What i don´t like is the tank capture thingy and most of all the true sight thingy, which makes it look like a commandos/MoW clone.

However its all scare information, so we have to wait for a fully report on it. I just hope relic will be more nice to the MP part in the next game, because this is what keeps a game alive.

I still play very old games of the 90´s because they are fun to play. Graphics dont matter that much if the game is fun.
