I agree with bangalor. So many mods have come out for COH and thats what keeps it interesting. Tournaments get boring after a while. With mods it keeps the franchise going that much longer.

They've expressed love for the mod community in the past so I assume modding will be allowed. The engine really doesn't look like it's changed much underneath the snow, and the franchise has a big enough fan base with plenty of modding enthusiasts that community made mod tools are surely to spring up eventually if Relic fails to deliver anything official. Hell, the existing mod tools could probably be modified allow CoH2 modifications.

The July issue of PCPowerPlay (Australia's premier PC gaming publication) Had a massive review of CoH2... And that's not all, the EF Mod actually recieved a mention in the article, and not an off-hand one either! According to the production leader interviewed, they are well aware of the EF mod, and many have actually played it! They also say that the EF mod 'influenced' their design process. The guy does go on to claim that in one of the last patches made for CoH, they intentionally added tweaks to make the Mod teams job 'easier' (From what I've seen on these forums that part is debatable).

There is one last bit of semi-related news in the same mag issue... There was another major article done on another massive modding project - "Tamriel Rebuilt" (Of which I have the honour of being involved with - the Oblivion "Hammerfell Project" spin-off anyway...). Why do I mention this? Because EF might just be on a large enough scale to receive similar treatment... Maybe... I think it would take action on the EF dev-teams part... Assuming said dev-team is even interested in seeking/receiving such publicity...

But anyway, even a minor 'mention' like this was worth making some fuss over in my mind...

I agree with this statement. Plus if you have no internet access you can play vs comp

The current issue is we're basically relying on Gaming journalists. Not the most reliable bunch in the world. So one has to sift through a lot of replays. Two just popped up which rather threw in some new details on maps and coldtech for example. Plus another interview with Quinn-

Plus one dev popped up on Gr.org (sigh) and tried to point out that CoH 2 was CoH with some of the rougher edges removed. Which is of course pretty damn hard for us to verify at the moment

3 map types seem to have been confirmed. Summer, spring and winter it seems.

Just wish we could get some gameplay footage. I mean it sounds bloody exciting when you have someone like Quinn talking about it. but i'd sure as hell rather see and hear it myself

I think they're just trying to "hype it up" per se. But I think ppl will begin to lose interest if we dont see some more gameplay soon . Or at least a better video than just the trailer.

around the stug there are many german solders (i think they are the main inf of relics ostheer)

behind them are 2 panzer IV

but when you look in front of the first panzer IV there are on the left and the right something that looks like an officer
maybe a new 2men squad? or an upgrade for existing squads? we will see XD

It's relic's attempt to make it easy to play. The reason Volks and Grens for example are weirdly colored is because Relic wanted to make it easier to tell them apart.

Yeah but this color pattern is just freaky O_o. At least Grens and Volks were similar color. And grey which made sense (sorta)

So I heard snow isn't actually just something for the looks but kills your soldiers over time if you leave them exposed. D:
