But but but... It just wouldn't be Red Alert :p

That's the whole premise behind Red Alert :P RA1 they go back in time to kill Hitler and create an alternate world where the Soviet Union starts WW2. In RA2 they go back in time to stop Yuri before he activates his Psychic Dominators, and in RA3 the Soviets go back in time to kill Einstein to stop him helping the Allies to victory, but in turn they lose access to Nuclear weapons and Japan has entered the fray.

For the mod universe, I personally think that this story is better than any shit EA could come up with and perfectly explains why the mod is set back during Red Alert 1 -

Gregor Zelinsky (having defected and eager to restore the original timeline) is ordered back to Moscow to fine tune the ex-Soviet time-machine under the Kremlin for an unveiling to Allied Military leaders. However, Zelinsky sneaks in and uses it to go back 2 minutes before Cherdenko is set to emerge from the Time Machine having killed Einstein. He uses his knowledge to overload the Time Machine, causing a catastrophic failure. Suddenly remembering he was part of the group that was there when Einstein was killed, he evaporates from existence before an explosion blows the Kremlin to pieces... not that this matters since the space time continuum is now totally and utterly fucked;

As Zelinsky never existed, his Time Machine disappears from existence also. Cherdenko and Krukov also disappear. Since Cherdenko no longer exists, Einstein is re materialised back into existence.

However, as it turns out both Cherdenko and Krukov proved detrimental to the war effort. Without them more talented Generals took their place. Romanov's Soviet Union wins the war and as a last ditch attempt, the Americans use their time machine to go back in time to kill the architect of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin.

The assassination backfires however. With Lenin not existing, the entire Russian Revolution and subsequent Civil War is orchestrated and won by Julius Martov, Leon Trotsky and the Mensheviks. They incite Socialist revolution that, by the 1930's, engulfs the world. Einstein himself is detained and imprisoned by the German government for being a Socialist agitator, leaving his Time Machine project incomplete, vanishing them from space time.

The Americans sent to kill Lenin never return as time machines no longer exist. Because the Americans never existed, Lenin is re materialised just as Einstein was.

Time returns to as it was in 1945 when Einstein created his Time Machine and uses it to remove Hitler from existence... everything is back to square one ;D

Seems to be a good game , i have never played it before . i read something about it , and you are right ,burro, the history of this game it's 10 times better than any cliche from EA.  i know the song called "hell march" , and that's all :( .

all we need is clear and readable plot, don't we?  ;D

I've played all RAs ( while I don't remember 1 well - it was so many years ago), RA2 had the best gameplay/plot ever, and RA3... well, I do liked cryocopter. That's all.

Well I heard bad reviews for RA3 so I didn't end up playing it

RA1 was awesome

RA2 was just the best

Yuri's Revenge was also awesome :)

And Aye the plot to the RA Franchise is rather.... Well confusing to put it in little words :p

It would all be explained in an opening cinematic narrated by Morgan Freeman :P

To explain it concisely-
Zelinsky goes back in time to destroy his time machine before Cherdenko emerges, but a chain of events in space time lead to existence totally reverting to as it was in the original universe before Einstein erased Hitler.

But now I've put too much thought into this... and I really want to make it. Meh, maybe.

Yeah the idea has been around since 1.0, the original build had a drastically different armory though, a lot of missing and replaced upgrades, as well as modifications to the still present ones.

There were some mods that I wished they were in development.
1. I would like a Talvisota mod for company of heroes. there should be a mix of trenches and mobile warfare. in my opinion, trenches does not go well in vanilla coh. I would like to fight tanks like the t26, bt tank series, and a few others.
2. Or Operation Unthinkable Cold War Style. A US vs USSR conflict with a mix of Cold War and WW2 equipment for both sides. The US would have better equipment, but USSR has better numbers.
Guards of the Red Army. Today, the German Reich is done away with!

Cold War and WWI COH would be cool. IIRC there is alreay a great war mod. And you can have cold war fights. Just use automatch :P

I'd love to see a WiC type mod. Crashing tanks through the Berlin Wall in CoH would be awesome ;D
