« on: July 25, 2009, 09:04:15 PM »
Wich Russian tanks are for sure going to be in this? I think that these Russian tanks should be featured,

T-60 Light tank
T-34 Medium tank
T-34/85 Medium tank
IS-2 Heavy tank
Kv-1 Heavy tank
Kv-2 Heavy tank

Currently we have the following as candidates for inclusion;

T-70
T-90
T-34
T-34/85
IS-2
ISU-152
SU-76

Obviously, we will just have to see how balance and enjoyment factors plan out before we make the final decisions.

One of them, the T-90 that tank wasent even in service during WW2. The only Russian tank from WW2 that used the name T-90 was an Anti Aircraft tank.

Its the AA version of the T-70. What makes you think we'd include a Modern Day MTB into a WW2 game?

We have a KV-1 model, but they were pretty ineffective against Panthers and Tigers, so we opted to include the IS-2 instead. KV-2 would've be a nice addition, but it lost the job to the ISU-152.

I think that both kv 1&2 would be good tov candidates:

the kv1 could replace the is2, being cheaper and slightly faster, upgrades with the 85mm gun which would give better chances against the heavy german armor

the kv2 is an issue, but if it replacced the isu 152, then it would need to hit like a spigot, not arty: better against buildings and infantry, more than one at a time but worse at ability

It just would be nice to see the Kv-2 because it is fairly forgoten.

We already have a tank that's cheaper, faster, and upgrades to a 85mm gun. Two tanks that are cheap, fast and upgrade to an 85mm gun seems like a waste of time. The only thing the KV had over a T-34 was its armour, and even that wasn't much since the T-34's had the characteristics of armour that was over 100mm thick.

So is the SU-76 still in for the first release, I thought the T-70/90 had replaced it?

As for the KV-1 replacing the IS-2 and the KV-2 replacing the ISU-152 I think its a cool idea for when (or if) a campaign comes about, and to be used in the ToV style "army customisation" option.

Cheers

Yeah they are all pretty awesome vehicles to include. It is just about getting the right balance and chemistry etc.

Technically, we can introduce 'reward units' just like ToV T17/M18 etc. this in turn would allow us to change teh faction slightly without introducing a 2nd real version ;) SU85/100/122/Ba 64/Ba-10 would be the ones I'd like to see personally
