Eastern Front Installation Problem

Hi everyone;

I have some serious problem about installation Eastern Front mod.
I'll explain my situation deeply for any advice. Please i realy need a help. I am totaly desperate about this situation. I tried many things but it still have same error.

first of all i have;

Company of Heroes(steam)
Company of Heroes; opposing front(dvd)
Company of Heroes; Tales of Valor(steam)
Also my version is 2.602.0 probably its the latest one.

My operating system is Windows 7 x86

As u can see i bought  Coh and Coh Tales of valor by steam and CoH Opposing front as a dvd.
All is original.

Problem is; When i install EF and click check for updates, it says;
''Eastern Front Mod does not appear to be installed on your system. Try reinstalling Eastern Front Mod to continue''

I follow many solution way. fistly i install to this direction
C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes
nothing happend.
then i install here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes
Still nothing happend and gived same mistake.
Also i click settings on EF Launcher window and write the ''CoH directory'' to location :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes
and
C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes
NOTHING HAPPEND AGAIN Says;
''Eastern Front Mod does not appear to be installed on your system. Try reinstalling Eastern Front Mod to continue''

I realy dont know what to do more.
Please i'll be realy glad if someone help me..

Split and moved to the correct section. Have you tried this?

EDIT:
As you are using "Program Files (x86)", you are not using Windows x86 but x64. You can check this by hiting the windows key and pause key at the same time, or checking "My PC" properties information.

This problem usually happens because EF is installed without admin rights(or maybe just bad luck ), you can try to fix it by reinstalling it and making sure you have admin rights while reinstalling EF. But if you want to fix this by yourself(tough guy huh ) you can do this:

Open a regedit instance(windows key + R or start menu->run and type regedit then execute) and look for "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Eastern Front" key, and should store your current EF version information. If you are using x64 OS, try checking on "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node".

If not, you can restore it by running this registry entry:

The previous entries are done expecting you have the latest version, otherwise change "1.5.2.0" for the current version you have installed.

If you know how to create registry entries you probably prefer to add them yourself, otherwise, paste it on a text editor(like notepad) and save it as reg file: i.e. filename.reg, where filename is whatever name you like and then double click it in order to add the registry. You can use the script whenever you want, just that everytime you use it you overwrite the old registry so, be sure about what you add there.

The "Display Version" value must be filled with the latest version you have of Eastern Front, if you don't remember maybe it's better to reinstall, but if you are sure about what version you have, you can add it yourself.

Hmm its a bit complicated.

Ok first of all i opened this direction;

It was like;

so i made as showen in the text as
"DisplayVersion"="1.5.0.0"
then what to do i realy didnt get
i tried open one more time i got same error

Sorry, I forgot to update that post, the latest version is 1.5.2.0, but if you don't have the latest version, you should add your current version, in this case "1.5.0.1" probably was correct. In what language do you use Windows? Are you running the launcher with admin rights? Have you installed Microsoft redistributable routines(2005 & 2008 x64 versions)?

You probably will need to patch your version manually and create a shortcut for EF.

Sometimes the launcher fails to work even if all the needed stuff is right there, so I would like to ask you what windows version(basic, ultimate, etc.) and what localization you are using .

Ok. my operation system is Windows 7 Professional. Language is English. I installed Microsoft redistributable routines as i remember.

Also i runned as an administrator. nothing happend. i also patch my version manually.
Now i tried to create short cut even the direction which u gave to me is giving example for non steam game.

I am gonna take of my clothes and run in the main street and scream now!!

Then just replace the retail address with the steam one .

C:\Games\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCoH.exe -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCoH.exe

Excuse me ? The shorcut you are creating is going to launch EF directly. If you got the launcher instead, you referred the wrong exe instead of RelicCoH.

Remember that you should install EF on "Company of Heroes" and not "Company of Heroes\Eastern Front" or any other self-made folder, you can post a screenshot of your EF directory to make sure you added it on the correct path. If you got a different scenario, please let me know.

Ok u say ''during installation change the destination folder as:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCoH.exe
U mean not any folder directly on .exe but how u can install it on .exe i didnt get that part. For example when i write that .exe destination on installation window ''install'' button become disable

Did i get u wrong ? or realy wrong ? Coz im sure that ur right but something realy wrong with ME
