To all of you, requesting the map: It isn't finished and I don't think it's worth uploading. But I can give yo the stamp of the Flakturm, if you want. Simply place it here:
Code: [Select]
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\ww2\Data\WBData\Stamps\TemporaryIf this directory doesn't exist, create it.
To use it on your maps, simply open the stamp tool, check every box under "Filters", select the flakturm stamp in the "temporary" directory and place it with a rightclick. You may want to adjust the height of the flakturm because the stamp contains some surrounding terrain.

I can confirm it is working.

Looking forward to see some maps!

It's featured on the Berlin map.

Oh, i see.. I looked, and looked but couldn't find it.. Until i realised it could be outside the playable zone :'(

Can i open the map in the editor and make the playable area a -little- bigger? Or can i only do that with SGB files?

Cheers

So what do you want to do with that Flakturm? It has no real function other than looking good. There is really no need to have it in the playable area. Additionally, the place it stands is historically correct, there were three Flaktürme in Berlin; one was situated in the Tiergarten, this is where it actually stood.

Concerning your plans of enlarging the playable area - in order to do that, you would have to stamp the whole map and paste it into a new scenario. To be able to stamp, you'd need a working stamp tool first which is only possible with Cope's WB pipeline fix, you can download that fix in the tutorial section.
However when you have achieved all that, you'd need to exchange each object that was placed in the former off map area - because they are pasted as visual only objects, without collision - the latter isn't needed off map.

If you still want to do that, go ahead. Otherwise I'd think about uploading the stamp file of my modified Flakturm.

Finally, about .sgb files - basically an .sga file is nothing else than an archive, containing all the files belonging to a map, including the sgb file. So in the end there is no big difference between .sga and .sgb - you'd only have to extract the files, that's all.

I like the idea of putting it SOMEWHERE in the map. Maybe also make it a reinforcement point?

Already answered, no.

Balanced maps do not contain weapons and fhqs for the sake of...well balance. Then it becomes a "first team to get to the flak wins"

Indeed! They tried to blow them up after WWII because the Flaktürme didn't solve any purpose anymore, but they failed because the concrete was just too massive. Today there's a disco in one of Hamburg's remaining Flaktürme.
