Actually, English is a very important subject - perhaps one of the most. It isn't just about interpreting what Shakespeare or whatever other author meant when they wrote something but also about expressing ideas and opinions in a coherent and clear manner. Too many people these days talkz lik dey got droopd on dere hed as a kid. Religion should be covered in Psychology or History, not a subject of its own where people force ideas on you. Rather, it should be about the social or historical significance of religious groups, practices and beliefs.
I can't remember doing much in Religious education, we didn't learn much about religion though. I disagree that it's useless, ignorance is one of the worst things on the planet, a poor education in this field can quickly lead to prejudice. However, If I was in charge of the curriculum, I would replace RE with Sociology... which is basically what the class was anyway to a lesser extent.
OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD AND RAPE CEASERS GHOST IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN!?
i agree that if you have a whole class for religion, its a bit absurd. i learned about all the major religions in what we call social studies, but that also included history and other stuff. ass for english, i think that its pretty useful, but mostly to reporters, newspaper editors, novelists, and such.
OSTHEER IS DONE WHEN IT'S DONE!
