Will "Rise of the Snowmen" be required for 1.6 installation?

If you download the update from 1.5.2.0 to 1.6.0.0, no. If you download 1.6.0.0 full, yes.

I fear the game mode is going to be removed. But why? It's still winter, why shouldn't you defend your fir trees off-Christmas? I'm for keeping it, just remove that bunker tree.
