Patching Error 10104
« on: November 28, 2011, 03:57:51 AM »
Hey guys I've been trying to reinstall my CoH ever since I had to reboot my PC.  The problem is, after the game installs from the disc and I try to patch, it gives me some BS about how one of the sga files are corrupt and I must reinstall the game and patch again.  I've done this many times already, even manually installed the CoH patches, and I even tried to set the CoH.exe and the patch exes to Windows XP Compatibility mode (I have Vista) but it still doesn't work.  I have the CoH Gold Edition.  Some help would be appreciated.

Maybe it's the disk? Try borrowing one from someone else (or torrenting an ISO of one) and reinstalling that way.

I'd wondered where you were. Also, you have Vista? Ewww... I thought you had W7.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

If one of the SGA files are corrupt and that's all that's stopping you perhaps someone can upload it using SpeedyShare.

No game (or program in general) I know of has "special" disks for each consumer. Therefore, torrenting an illegal version from the net is perfectly fine since you have already purchased the game and can use your CD key. I've had to do this with two games before (SWBF2 and RTW) because the CDs stopped working for some reason.

Perhaps try what Cranial suggested. What file is it? If that doesn't work, make sure after uninstalling that you are also manually deleting the leftovers in the program files to make sure everything is clean.

I did this with OF.

And yes, I've had to do this with some SGA files before. I pulled a skinpack goof, where I had a backup of the original archives but forgot to update the backup folder when 2.6.0.2 came out, and when I replaced the skinpack I backteched to 2.6.0.1 SGA files. I just got copies of the bad files from Rizz a long time ago (Thanks!) and avoided having to reinstall.

Thanks guys.  I'll try out a torrent I guess...  Also, Dennis, do you still have my skinpack files?  If you do, could you please check these 4 things:

Whether the Grenadier helmets have the band around them (please check their coats too; they should have suspenders)
Whether the PE Panthers are version Ausf D
Whether the Wehrmacht Reward Voss Tiger is Ausf E (Early) and the normal Tiger is Ausf E (Late)
Whether the King Tiger MG sounds like the MG42 sound instead of the Sherman MG sound

Thanks

I still have your pack. But checking for Ausf E might be difficult for me :p
