Men Supporting Tanks or Visa Versa

Just a little something i was thinking a bout earlier would be to have something like with linking British Lieutenants to infantry squads but be able to link streklys or guards to Tanks and have them follow close behind or the other way around supporting it by attacking threatening units. I don't know if its possible or if it'd be very useful but it's just a suggestion

I guess it's possible... but frankly why? You will have 100x more control over units when you'll make orders yourself. "follow" ability is totally useless, and unit that follows other one behaves stupid.

Well obviously it shouldn't be exactly the same make it better so they support or use as cover

well, not exactly. You see, when tank moves on, the infantry tries to follow it. And then inf's path is blocked by moving vehicle, so they cancel their orders and stop. It's similiar to the "pushing" pios/ing repairing vehicle. They have to stop in order to let the oter vehicle to move... so they walk away from the assigned vehicle to repair, and they do nothing.

For one thing, there's already Tank Riders that sit on tanks.  If you want infantry to support your tanks, just do it yourself and have your infantry attack alongside your tanks.  Its already possible in-game.  I don't see why they need some sort of follow command when you can just move your infantry and tanks together with a few mouse clicks.  When things like artillery hit and you have your troops stuck in that follow command formation, guess what happens?

Than select a groop of units.  Problem solved.

What if you want 2 guys to go one way and 3 to go the other way ?

I just select all and when the little icons appear in your comand bar I individually select each unit and order them around. IDK if anyone else does this

So you don't like to play with infantry when COH is such a infantry heavy game. It's Not RedAlert 1 you know. And you hate moving your infantry into cover while you got one tank you need to micro back and forth.

Or are you compstomping with MAX amount of pop-cap in tanks and then 2 grenader squads that you want to follow 2 of those 10?

And why would they follow a tank instead of capping, flanking and all that jazz? If you drive on a road the road has negative cover...

Hmm, I think you should learn reading before posting... I don't see there anything about "I hate playing with infantry".

The point is that if you move your tanks you need to make a lot of flanking and that's usually a hell lot of "click-work that's why such a ability would be quiet useful... and no I'm not a comp stomper and if you think I play then you are invited to play a 1vs1 against me and I already know who will win .
