Small Arms

used search, couldn't find jack ;)

i have a few questions concerning the small arms in the game

1. Do the rifles change stats depending on the guy carring it? for example, will the Kar98k do less damage when it hits when its used by a folk or by a stormtrooper?

2.i know that kar98 will win on long range and M1 Garand will win at short range, but how about other rifles? is the Lee Enfiel of the tommies good at long or short range? what's with the mosin-nagant?
has the KVT-40 the same stats as the G43? (which is long range,at least the game says so)

I think all bolt action rifles are more accurate but fire slower so they work better long range vs something with shortrange weps. Some rifle stats change depending on whose holding it. For ex conscript mosin does less dmg compared to strelky :-\

Vet also helps. When a soldier picks up a wep its vet affcts the weps performance. Like rifleman vet will make whatever wep they pick up stronger while Wher vet doesn't help :(.

I think the SVT-40 is similar to the G43 ???. Not sure.

Btw is Volks not Folk ;D

The weapons are all different. Luftwaffe Ground Forces K98k is the worst, next best if the Volksgrenadier K98k, then comes the Panzer Elite K98k, then the Grenadier K98k, then the Falshirmjaeger K98k, then the Stormtrooper K98k trumping the rest.

M1 Garands deal the most damage at point blank range, K98ks generally like to be at maximum range, G43s and SVT40s prefer Long-medium range combat, and Lee Enfields are for the extreme of exreme ranges where their .45 accuracy is noticeibly better then the .35 accuracy of all other rifles (discounting vet).

I can't wait till they add british to CoH:O; the extreme forces leveled by the new imbalances will create a black hole around the servers that destroys half of Canada.

Volks and LGF use the same weak K98. Falls and PGs use a middle ground K98 that is better at close range than other K98s and has a slight damage bonus to infantry armour. Grens and Stormies use a powerful K98 that is better against units in cover and deals loads of damage accurately.

Weapons are the same no matter who holds it, so a picked up shrek is identical to the one that the squad previously used (unless a PE shrek, because it morphs into a Wehr shrek on the ground). So if a gren squad drops a shrek or LMG and a volk squad picks it up, it's exactly the same. Instead, different units use the same type of weapon that is actually statistically different.

All those stats are what we have to pour through to get the balance in this game right...

quite funny
kar98k and a kar98k elite and a kar98k PE
in RL it makes no sense at all
but for game mechanics .....
