Invisble Rounds? (G43/SVT40)
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:27:44 AM »
Hey,i'm pretty sure this is a topic for GENERAL discussion ;)

I'm sure you all noticed that the bullets of pretty much every weapon in the game is seen while traveling as a yellow lightning, but not the ones of the two buyable semi-automatic rifles in the game (G43 for the PE and SVT40 for the sovs)
how is that explained by vCoH or EF?
i know that bullets can't be seen in real life while traveling, but it's common in videogames to make it easier to find the source of fire.
so either all bullets should be visible for esthetic sakes (don't know if it's the right word in english, sry) or they all should be invisble for realitys sake. and yes,i know that neither vCOH nor EF are strictly realistic and i'm fine with that, i don't care that anti tank rifles could'nt even scratch a panzer IVs nazi-painting ;)
so what do you think? visible or invisble?

Err Im pretty sure there is already a thread for this :P

But you're right in that it would be nice to have the bullest visible. IDK if the devs have the time to do it though.

imo who cares because you will see where the squad is and more than likely it will mean they are firing at something giving you LOS. i never really notice the guns shooting, im always microing around.

ps. the only gun i actually watch is a hummel, its like a massive explosion out of its cannon.
Its a beautiful day to kill, dont you think so??

yeah, the hummel produces tonns of smoke with one shot...but now i notice: the G43 and SVT40 are the only two handguns that produce considerably more smoke than other rifles...got to ask mulder&skully if theres any connection behind that ;)

G43 was copied from the WM sniper; snipers produce more flash and smoke then the normal rifles of the game, and since it was just copy pasted, theres the weapon and flash/smoke, but no projectile--the sniper G43 uses its own special sniper projectile, and nobody ever bothered to add the standard projectile to the weapon file. SVT was copied from the PE G43 and inherited the same issue.

If you consider invisible bullets a STD then yes ;)
