I'm sorry but I'm just trying to get good or negative reception about this patch and what we can do to improve upon it and a lot of these post are either concerns about the AI or why the game is crashing in fortress mode or how soviets suck with no explanation or how fortress mode doesn't work with skirmish yaddy yada.

In balance we focus primarily upon PVP 1v1 and 2v2 matchups, sometimes 3v3 when we have the manpower. Skirmishing-balance, however you can call it, is of minor priority as the AI recieves massive resource boost and bonuses depending on the level you set it on. The AI isn't going to be perfect and is entirely predictable and it just isn't even all that fun. Fortress Mode is cool to blow off some steam but PVP is just the way to go. We have enough people to play PVP all the time yet a lot on the forum like to compstomp instead.

It stabs me on the inside.

Everyone knows what happens when AI reaches it's critical mass. This is a fact and will never change... unless robotnik find something about it you will have to deal with it ;D.

Honestly who cares about the AI...its for compstomp noobs, and increasing AI intelligence will only promote compstompers coming to EF.

You know guys, "comp stomping" isn't so bad. Its a way for people to practice. For a while I couldn't even beat normal comp :(. Now I can tackle Hard comp :). Lay off just a little :P. It makes ppl feel bad :'(.

And in the "noobs" defense, I started up EF and there were no PvP games or Basic matches available so its not like anyone has a choice :(.

It would be nice to have no crashes with AI but its being worked on so for know we just have to wait it out. Like this new Hurricane Irene  ;D

BTW: This sounds like a dumb question but whats the difference b/w red tide and fortress. It fairly similar IMO, other that the fact fortress comes with more emplacements and free 88's.

You know guys, "comp stomping" isn't so bad. Its a way for people to practice.

But Skirmishes will never gelp a player to win a good PvP game.
AI will NEVER do the things which can do an human player.
For example: you put barbed wire in a road to lock the passage, AI will never pass from that road for the rest of the game since.
An human player use the wire cutters and he can pass from that road.

IMO Skirmishes are good only for:
- See the new units
- See the new changes in a patch
- Wait a mate engaged in another game.

PS I like the new Sharpshooter design.  :)

:D

Thing took a while to come up with the idea for, we were trying to nerf the Sharpshooter team in an effort to make it balanced but no matter how you slice it even if you countersnipe you either get countersniped back or just a bucket of arty dumped on you. And that's not fair.

But I must say, giving a key tip here. The Spotter + Sniper is a VERY, good combo. The Sniper's range is a bit beyond is LOS. If you see an enemy sniper, move both teams up to the front line and engage. If you are having trouble countersniping, use Mark Target next time he reveals himself. Once he's been marked he can't hide in camo anymore, and just target him with your sniper!

Mark Target also reveals other camo'd units. (PaKs, Storms, Hetzer, Kets)

You seem to forget that a large portion of our audience enjoy playing against CPU AI, whether it is to practice tactics, because they don't like playing under competitive conditions or maybe they just want to kick back and play a 'relaxing' and maybe predictable game. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and we will continue to cater for such players.

I really like Kalach and Lemburg maps they're pretty cool. alot of the changes are very good decisions imho. having conscripts upgrade to full rifles if you want in urban assault does add some flavour to the game.
I really enjoy the new emplacement gun too, very interesting choice for that.

Stalingrad railroad map seems a bit big and might be more suited as a 6-8 player than 4. but it does look really good imho all the maps i've tried in this patch look amazing.
the redesigned sniper/sniper team is a good change too. Flares are really effective.
yay su122 doesn't crash game anymore :)

Pls help me out because i dont get the new conscripts
i liked them in 1.40 but now i cant get my head around them
they cost 4 manpower less but are 100% less usefull
they dont get vet anymore (which imo breaks alot of motivation)
and without urban they cant get full rifles...
i think they are just very useless atm
pls correct me if i am wrong and tell me how to use them better :'(

Conscripts get cheaper as the game goes on now. For each of the 4 tech upgrades (short/medium range support, light/heavy tankovy) their reinforcement cost is reduced by 2MP for a total of 8MP reduction. They're by far the cheapest infantry in the game. Their vet didn't really do much apart from the rifle sets anyway. If you're fond of conscripts go Urban.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

I think conscripts ( if you choose Propaganda doc and BT doc) now could only be used as the early game combat unit. Afterward, the remaining conscripts should be used as capping unit only since their firepower and molotov don't cause any effect on scout cars and grens, blobing them in Mid and late game is a big mistake since they are good practice targets for Pumas and scout cars.
