lol... nice one Mr. Bot.

@Cranialwizard
Don't know, for me it's still a piece of paper :-\... don't know how this is in other countries, but anyone can graduate from Uni if has the necessary money/friends/relatives. I have seen very irregular students that pull this out, useless people that have a piece of paper saying that finished their uni/high school but in RL they suck hard.

Think of it this way, if you don't have one who would be stupid enough to employ you? It's not that they're special. Just people who don't have one are special, for the wrong reason lol.

If you dont have 1 then you are look down upon and its very hard to get a job. And over here its no THAT easy to get 1. Anyone with simple knowledge can get 1 but its not like theyre retarted or anything :P

Someone had a good chart of the most basic american income, it was something like this:

High School Dropout-18000 USD
High School Graduate-27000 USD
College/Uni 2 years-38000 USD
Uni 4 years +-57000 USD
Doctorate (8 years +)-82000 USD

(Or something along those lines)

Yes, it's not like you need to pay for food, shelter and alcohol which are essential to life or anything :P.

I'm not sure what social security is but if it's basically unemployment pay aka. the dole here in Australia then I'm totally against it. Tax dollars shouldn't go towards people sitting on their asses collecting benefits.

Social security in my country is a small sum of money which a person gets on a monthly basis if he or she was just fired or if he/she is unable to work due to physical or mental reasons. This sum generally is just large enough to live by and lasts only for a relatively short amount of time (depending on which kind you are getting).

No...

That's welfare. If you're too lazy to get up and find a job...yea...that's welfare/unemployment.

Social Security was originally designed for retiring people and would give them a small amount of money each month to help support them their remaining years. When this system was implemented, the average american lived to 65, and the retiring age was 64, so this system actually worked out pretty nice.

Now that the retiring age is 65 and the average lifespan is 86+ the system has failed to really work as effiecent as it once did. With the Baby Boomer age retiring soon there will not be enough funds for Generation X or Y in social security.

After the 1960's and 70's Social Security Rights extended to those whom were disabled or injured in the workplace.

I am totally against our unemployment/welfare system here. My tax dollars pay for somebody to do nothing because he has no official job yet he drives a Cadillac because he might sell crack on the side, here I am walking to and from school because insurance for young drivers is so high..

Morale of the story: Go to school, get smart, get a job, and WORK. And don't sell crack on the side :P
