World of Tanks advice
« on: June 03, 2011, 05:09:41 AM »
Hey guys, I've been playing world of tanks recently and I know that some of you have gotten past tier 3 (the one that I'm working on right now). Now I need some advice on to head down the road to get the Panzer 3 and 4 or to try to shoot for the Panther.

Playing playing playing playing...if you don't wanna resarch all modules (but sometimes it's recommended) you can skip something of Panzer III (like "Stubby cannon" or radio).
About Panzer IV I advice to you to resarch all modules (tracks, turret, engine, gun) except radio (you aren't a scout tank so you'll not go too far from your mates).

Other tanks like all VK prototypes I don't know it very well, but more high it's the tier, more times you've got to resarch all modules.

Moreover, if you have a Premium Account you can get the Panther and Panther II easly, but without it it's impossible because the manteinance costs starts to be too high at tier VI (for heavy tanks) and VII (for medium tanks).

So repairs get pricey (like how), and I bought the Panzer 38(t)and it seems like a good tank for now (with the 47mm gun at least), but are the Panzer III and IV better options compared to the Panzer III/IV, and VK series?

It depends what kind of tank do you wanna resarch, Heavies or Medium.

Panzer IV with all modules is better than Panzer III/IV IMO, but if you have a Panzer 38 (t) I advice to you to continue on that road so:

Pzkfw 38
Pzkfw 38 nA
Pzkfw III/IV
VK 3001 P
VK 3002 DB
Panther
Panther II

For the 2 Panzer 38 you can evitate to resarch all modules, pass at the next tank soon as possible.
At Pzkfw III/IV yo must resarch all (except radio, with 7200 ex you can pass at next tank soon).
I suggest to resarch all (radio too) with VK 3002 DB, that is a very good medium tank.

I've been playing for a few days now but it seems like the medium tank tree doesn't feel right, so I sold my Pz38NA and got the Panzer 3 (which seems infinitely better) and got the 75mm  8) and now I'm grinding for the Panzer 4. Quick question: What tier are you on?

I play with artillery (Grille) light (Leopard) and I've just started German medium tree.
I've got also a KV with 152 mm.

Know your role. If you're a light tank, stick close to the TDs and Heavy tanks with good range to back you up, and rush forward to scout when the group comes under fire so the big boys can bring their range into play.

If you're a medium, also stick close to heavier tanks, but use your mobility, armor, and firepower to flank the enemy and hit them yourself in their weaker armor, or at least force them to turn to engage you and thus expose their weak armor to your teammates.

If you're a heavy, try to be the center of gravity of the attack. Try to be the guy attracting all the fire, because you're built to take it. Remember that you're not invincible though, and when you start running out of HP, you should revert to staying at the fringe of the attack or relying on ambush tactics to continue racking up damage.

TDs are primarily the snipers, and in some cases excellent ambushers. Small low TDs are best suited for waiting near cover, firing off a shot, then quickly retreating behind cover, then setting up again for another ambush. Heavy top gun TDs are essentially semi-mobile bunkers for defense or slow offense.

SPGs, well cmon. Sit in base and shoot stuff, nuff said.
