im not sure but wasnt said that the zis-3 was also a light artillery and can be used like that ingame?

Yea, change the fucking range. It should be like 17 pounder, and cost 360MP 45FU will be more fair than right now. And i will always against ZiS 3 that this is good vs infantry and weak vs tanks, this is illogical, it should be inversely.

No, this is how YOU think it should be. It's fine as an all purpose field cannon. It's supposed to be more expensive than it is, an oversight.

i have one question, why soviet doc 1 need a AP and AT "fieldgun" with super range if the alrready have the katiuxkas vs AP in de tree?

The CP cost is too high, and maybe the resource cost too. Its fragile, and cost a lot!

On the other hand, range need to be decreased slightly, its just monstruous! AI and AT capabilities are ok, but the range is just a little bit to high atm.

It goes Toe to Toe in a 1v1 with a Panther. In high-end matches the Panther would probably win due to micromanagement, but then again a Panther cost twice of what a ZiS-3 costs.

In my experience the emplacement cost needs to be higher, but the CP count needs to be lowered or switched with GOW. 4 CP for a Field Gun, 3 for a massive arty strike that devastates? :/

If it can take on a panther, I wonder what does mean "crappy AT gun". As for myself, my ZIS-3 fired on a Stug repeatedly and didnt penetrated the armour.

Change the range to 17 lber.  Increase cost to 17 lber, decrease to 2 CP, increase the other doctrine abilities in the line by 2 more CP (total) to compensate.

Hopefully this will come around the same time as AC and MP44 hits the field, and give Soviet commanders a temporary safe spot on the map.  At the same time, mortar HT and locked down Maurders should be able to hurt it safely later on.

The gun stats itself is OK.

StugIV has the heaviest armor till Panthers hit the field. Its better than PzIV. Stug armor is like Churchill armor for allies.
Also you shouldnt be suprised your "ZIS-3 fired on a Stug repeatedly" becouse ZiS-3 has an insane range, bettler than any allied direct fire gun (AT or not). No doubt Stug didnt fire a single shot back at the emplacement.

My point was that ZiS-3 was more usefull than a Stug (in that and in allmost every situation), stopping an attack before it even started, pounding anything that moves with Sherman shells (same penetration), without getting hit itself.
Stug didnt fire becouse it was out of range and couldnt fire.
