God of War Ability
« on: May 18, 2011, 05:59:35 AM »
I understand that it targets multiple sectors, not just one like the PE's Sector Artillery right? If that is true, it should be fixed so if placed in an adjacent sector to enemy bases, it won't bombard enemy bases. I believe that makes it overpowered. That has been done against me, and it is impossible to rebuild when artillery hits your base every few seconds. It's not as bad if it hits multiple sectors, just don't let it hit the bases.

what are you doing spamming the board with a bunch of nerf soviet fanboy propoganda? this is your second new thread in a couple of minutes

I could nearly fill the page with a counter-argument but I think you're trolling.

@RedGuard: I think he's serious, and serious you should take this request. Such big arty abilities (talking about PEs Sector Artillery, CWs Overwatch Arty and of course GOW here) shouldn't be able to be called into HQ sectors, and that's already the case.
I don't know if there are possibilities to do this, but the Soviet player should be prevented from unleashing this hell of arty into an enemy base, even if not directly.
And please don't insult the first who comes along and doesn't share your opinion about the Soviets as a fanboy.

1) Henschel strike does it too, and don't forget V-1 and mortar barrage,
2) GoW is re-worked anyway,
3) He (the TS) appears to always request some soviet nerfs in all his posts, so I'm not sure, the RedGuard got it wrong.

No one in the Balance thread has mentioned this as a bug (neither was thought as it). Perhaps as GoW was changed this could be considerated... or not.

OT: I just added the SVT to your NI :P.

1) I see your point here IJoe, but there's still a difference between this epic, long lasting, whole-sector-damaging abilities and these short ones.

2) I know that and can't await to test it.

3) I didn't know that, but I think there's still no reasin to write with an attitude like that.  :)

Henschel is more devestating when placed in base sector, than GoW is when placed outside the base sector.

theres really no balance issue here at all, and nothing to discuss.

I've done this a couple of times already to a few of the better players in our beta testing, no one had a problem with it you'd be better off saving it for something else actually. If you're lucky you might get a low tier building thats about it. I have the replays

with all due respect brandon you havent even seen the new GoW how are you commenting on its effectiveneness and calling for a nerf all at the same time?

I am not trying to troll. I have only posted about "nerfing the SU" because they have seemed OP since I started playing the mod months ago, though I believe they are mostly balanced now. I just believe something as powerful and long-lasting as GoW being able to hit a base is a little ridiculous.

"with all due respect brandon you havent even seen the new GoW how are you commenting on its effectiveneness and calling for a nerf all at the same time?"

Where can I see the new God of War and other changes since the new patch isn't out yet?

Well if you refuse to accept my experience, please wait until you can use it for yourself and form a legitimate conclusion of your own. for now this is wild speculation and I have little patience for things like this

Admit it, Brandonn, at the time being you are complaining about something that is not there any more. Thus it is like complaining, that patch 1.0 soviets are OP. Who cares?

To be fair, it's a pretty reasonable ask considering the old GoW. It's changed now though so there's nothing to discuss.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.
