Problem with startup
« on: May 10, 2011, 05:45:47 AM »
Hi, I downloaded the EF mod recently and have been trying to get it to work with no success. I installed it into my CoH directory and all that, and when I start the EF launcher, it does the whole "checking updates" thing, then says "EF is up to date". I click play and nothing happens. I click it and click it and nothing again. I reinstalled it to make sure i did it correctly, and downloaded new patches for my ToV, which was already 2.601. Still nothing. I installed it about a half-year ago, and it worked just fine. I am not sure what is going on.
Someone please tell me what could be the problem?

Short: wont launch help me

Heres a pic of my directory if that would help.

That's a shortcut :). Well... i don't see a single Eastern Front file there. If you installed EF in your PC ceirtanly wasn't in that path.

Btw, do you have 32 or 64 bits OS?

Are you kidding me? man! Where the heck did it go then? Yeah it is 64bit. I'll try reinstalling again, and making sure where it is going. Can I create an Eastern Front folder inside the CoH directory?

You just need to point the installer in the correct Company of Heroes path, EF installer is going to do the rest of the job.

Thanks guys, I finally got it figured out. I had it installed in the "Company of Heroes" folder on the top, second from the left. So i just extracted it out with the rest of the crap in the main CoH directory. Problem solved!

You can delete everything else if you don't need it :P... looks like what you need is inside "Company_of_Heroes/Company of Heroes" folder.

Btw, all CoH mods follow the same rules than EF, they must be installed in that path otherwise aren't going to work.

Just a quick reply to your MCE question.

MCE is a short for "Media Center Edition", basically allows you to play CoH in Window Media Center, I think this feature was added in the Opposing Fronts expansion.
