IS-2 is roughly the power of the Panther. Now that isn't imbalanced when both Axis sides can currently purchase Panthers without a doctrine.

122-mm is much more powerful than the Panther. It isn't 75-mm or even 88-mm.
It easily kill the Tiger.
Panther<Pershing<ИС-2

Theres something really annoying in the world of game development called 'balancing'.

OK, let's make the non-doctrinal Tiger II
and balance it up to 45-mm gun
This is not balance, but copying of the Wehrmacht.
The Panther is medium tank.
ИС-2 is heavy breakthrough tank.
All heavy tanks in the game are doctrinal.

I'm not going to argue this point, because not only do I have little knowledge of real-life tanks, but I also have little influence over what goes in and out of the mod gameplaywise.

Artemis,
the size of a gun's shell doesn't necessarily make it a better gun, there are many other factors such as muzzle velocity, barrel length shell weight etc.
The 122mm gun, though a fearsome size shell which could blow panzers to kingdom come was actually not an ap shell: i can't remember the details, but it's armor piercing capabilities were not brilliant as compared to other heavy guns, like the 100mm. It was however a very useful anti personnel round, with a heavy round and quite a big bang, which still hit like an 88.
the panther was armed with a 75mm gun, similar to the panzer 4. However unlike the panzer 4 versions, the panther had an enormous barrel, giving the shell greater accuracy and anti tank capability, making it almost equal to the 88.
If u want to compare the panther and is2, it's quite difficult to judge, but both had similar ability guns and similar armor weight, ie they both had similar armor thickness. However, as you will point out, the is2 had very effective sloped armor, giving it a better chance to rebound shells.
I hope this clears things up, sorry to bring in a hunk of history warty, but I hope this sets it straight

No worries, I have no problem with 'history' posts, providing they are well explained and in context.

I know that power of tanks is complex concept. ИС-2 has a good armour and a very powerful gun. You can talk about penetration, but a shot from this gun separates turrets from enemy tanks even without penetration. I still think this is too cool for a non-doctrinal unit.
In early November 1944 in Kubinka a captured heavy tank PzKpfw VI Ausf B "Tiger II" was shot. Sharped 122-mm projectiles penetrated the upper frontal part from 600 meters, an own 88-mm gun of the "Tiger II" KwK 43 penetrated this armour from 400 m and a 75-mm gun of the "Panther" had pierced the forehead from 100 m.

Remember, I did say that the 122 was ABOUT as strong as an 88. As for the test at kubinka, I haven't heard about it... Again, you have questions over the ability of the troops- I doubt even guards could use an 88mm gun as well as the tiger crew, it's all about what weapon you are used to.
The problem with balance is how can u equate the strongest soviet heavy tank with a medium heavy tank? Still, I think putting the is-2 above the panther but below the tiger makes sense roughly...

Wartys comments are not entirely correct. The IS-2 is balanced to beat a panther in a 1v1, be on par with a tiger in a 1v1, and lose to a king tiger in a 1v1.

I propose to make the mechanics similar to the Germans-repairers from bunkers and attach them to buildings or give them PPS.

For realism, I propose to rename the Conscripts to the Penalty Squad and put them in a winter uniforms without insignia, the Strelky make with forage-cap (like the Conscripts are now) and the Guardsmen make with helmets (like the Strelky are now).
Something like that but green.
And for Morpeh's (Naval Infantry)
but I think that the black uniforms would be better for the mod.

Naval infantry skins are not final. I think we are sticking with the skins for the basic infantry though.
