Yea, the problem Sony has is that it doesn't care as much for Multiplayer (or at least online) as the Xbox does, so the Interwebs are of less priority (although they are trying to change that) and that reflects the Security system.
They focus more on single player games (GoW III, FF13, Gran Turismo) and the multiplayer thing is the less important component. As an owner of both systems I enjoy the PS3 more, mainly because I love Bloody, Plot-driven, and just plain awesome games. The multiplayer takes a backseat for me.
The PC is my main MP system and i hope that Battlefield 3 will bring back the gaming community back to the PC. All great games start on the PC and then became console platforms (CoD, MoH, they are trying to get 40K on the console as a "Republic Commando-like" game, Need for Speed, and please no smirks for this one, but "Romance of the 3 Kingdoms")
