Read basic information about soviet faction, and then post.

I believe you can give the entire squad rifles with an upgrade of some sort.

If you are sure that consripts must have all of them a gun watch the Film: "Enemy at the gates".
Every second consript didnt have any gun ;)

I hope you're joking... Enemy at the Gates is not historically accurate, it's a movie constructed for the sole purpose of entertainment, just like this mod.

Historically, although its true that some entered battle without rifles, it wasn't because the Soviets were sadists and enjoyed watching their countrymen die, but because many Red Army supply routes were bombed extensively and enough rifles didn't reach their destinations. Afaik, it only really happened during Stalingrad, rest of the GPW Soviet soldiers had enough rifles.

I hadn't ever said that Soviets were sadists ;)
Yeah Enemy at the Gates isn't so realistic but it is the famous WW2 Eastern Front's Film and its one of my favorite films goddammit :D
As for the rest soldiers example: in Kursk they had all of them weapons :P
Of course in Kursk there wasn't as soldiers as in Stalingrant but it isn't means that Soviets didn't have a lot of Guns. They used to make a lot of Mosin-Nagant and PPSh-41 guns ;) :P

ugh, I loathed enemy at the gates.

western propoganda at its finest. The great Red Army was nothing like how they depicted it
Soviet is OP

I know, but unfortunately some people seem to see it this way, partially thanks to EatG perpetuating myths to a mostly ignorant western audience.

Link to the Basic Info, please? I see none.

xD

Well there was a guide and a wiki, but we got rid of it for some reason.

Guide was hard to keep updated. Wiki kept getting spammed by Ad-bots  :-\

But yeah, this is a game feature, I doubt we'll get rid of it.

The feature is historically accurate, works well in-game (apparently), and you guys put a lot of work into it. You really shouldn't get rid of it. There's no reason to.

I know! The Conscript squads make the Soviets unique, it represents how they were unprepared and under-supplied during the early war. You shouldn't get rid of it!

As for the guide, I'm seriously thinking about doing a Instruction-booklet style guide for Eastern Front. All I need is the Infantry Icons and a suggestion on a decent program to make the said guide (preferably something I can put into a PDF format) and then I'm all set. I'd be glad to write a guide.

Great :D I can base most of the entries in a "Instruction Booklet" style like the ones that came with the Company of Heroes box.

Here's on online PDF version of it:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/2358213/COH-user-manual

Of course, it's outdated due to Relic patching, but in the manual, after doing the soviets I might be willing to include updates to other factions.

Again, all I need is the Infantry icons (I have tanks, and I'm pretty sure I have base buildings too), a program (Or at least a suggestion, the best I can do right now is Paint.Net, but if you guys have a suggestion please let me know!) and preferably a piece of heavy equipment for a background on each page. (Notice on each page of the Whermacht there's either a background picture of a Tiger, Flak 88, Panther, or Nebel.)
