New Section: Included Maps
« on: April 13, 2011, 08:45:55 PM »
Hey everyone,
we decided to add a new Subforum to the Mapping-Section.
The subforum will only contain the already included maps.

Informations about the maps:
  • Name
  • Description
  • Latest update
  • Weather options
  • Map size
  • Minimap + additional screenshots

Any other suggestions?
Should i add the resource amount of the map?
Regards, Mystic

it's easy. Example: the battlefield consist of X sectors, best fuel point lay in 1 and 2, A and B can be used to make deep flanking maneuvre. Perfect map for massive tank battles.

What about that?

Do you mean in regards to cover, buildings, choke points, territory, points, all of the above?

1. A listing of EF_maps (with resource annotations)  :)   would make it easier to use this forum. I would suggest appending and updating Your initial Post with a list of maps organized by mapmaker. That way the community could contact the mapmaker with problems, suggestions etc. (also for maps with hidden features like the ABC map........). This would also help the moderators keep down the chaos. All to often a good thread degenerates into a historical discussion; which isn't bad in itself but usually gets a good topic locked. :(
2. Is there any chance that the variation of the minsk map is being made? The mortar bunker is fun but it focuses attention on one little area of the map to the detriment of the rest. Even without the bunker the map is a beaut. If the bunker is removed a third path up the mountain would maintain the king of the hill  game, (i think)? BTW great map. 8)

Mystic-Car... Which bug? o.O

The white tank bug
1. In CoH_OF and now in EFv1.31 when you try to recover  wrecks on the map at start and sometimes when you recover an allied  vehicle wrecked during the game it turns white and never activates. (sometimes).
2.This happens In cottbus and Zytomir maps. probably on moscow map... but thats a quess.
3. On the zytomir  map When I recovered the P5 on the RH of map it also had a white circle around it. I tried sending a 4M squad to man it but that didnt work either.
4. I noticed when I engage the recovery macro and then go to the tactical map all the recoverable wrecks on map at start, (I don't know about tanks wrecked in game) are indicated as white squares. perhaps it has something to do with how the wrecks are placed on the map? - That still doesn't explain why in cottbus an allied tank goes white. hope this helps. nice MG repositioning BTW.

"Recover" wrecks => your talking about the recover ability from the Bergetiger?

That should work with the wrecks on the map at all o.O
But some mappers always place wrecks on the map which aren´t real "map_object".

Will take a closer look at it in ~2 weeks.

Hi Guy,
Q1 on Kursk 2x2 map. The at start map appears very black, not night blue at start. the tactical map also seems to have many overlays, (underlays) of a map of Normandy beaches and another map. Is the black map a glitch? Can the underlay maps on the tactical map be removed? Thanks.
Q2. Smolensk 1x1 map. v1.3.1: The ford between the central farm area and the Victory Point area immediately east of it was traverseable prior to v1.3.1. It is no longer. If this is intentional should the area zone of influence between the two areas still be connected? It seems to me that it allows the player with the Northern Start Location to exploit a line of communication to an area it has no access to.

you please take some pictures of those bugs Otto?
But the minimap problem of Kursk should be already solved.

Hi guy,
I have the screen shots You requested for Smolensk Map. I have been unable to append them to this post. My keyboard mouse doesn't allow me to cut and paste anymore. Might be a bug in Foxfire 4.0 though. I'll copy you when I get it straightened out.

v1.4.0 Y'all did a great job on the new maps. very competitive.
