Hey guys. I need a new gaming mouse, and since you are all P.C. gamers, i thought you guys would have a good idea of what i should get. Right now i have the Logitech G9 and the Cooler Master Sentinel, both of which aren't very good. So if someone could give me some advice, it would be much appreciated.

Also, some advice on mouse pads would be good, too.

Oh yeah, and i would prefer a ball mouse. 8)

I have a Logitech LX3 mouse, good one

As Mouse pad i have a Razer Sphex, very good accuracy but glues like hell :p

I would recommend a Razer Destructor, but its expensive

Thanks for the pics guys, but i'd really prefer a ball mouse. These stupid optical and L.A.S.E.R. mice just don't have any where near the control and accuracy of balls. :(

^^ true. Ball-mouse just ain't got enough balls to compete with a decent wireless optical one.

Oh yeah? Could someone please explain to me how to flick an optical or L.A.S.E.R. mouse?

I'd tell you if I knew what that meant...

Either way I'd hope that Snug's, Killar's and my suggestion show that logitech is the way to go :P

Back in the good old days of P.C. gaming (you know, before mice got neutered), you could flick the mouse quickly in any direction to turn around almost instantly. (Since the ball will spin very fast, and you just put it down to stop it spinning.) But try that with a L.A.S.E.R. or optical mouse, and it will just stop dead, because there is no ball to keep the momentum going. And on top of that, the pointer or cross hair with these shitty modern mice just won't sit still. It's always jumping around, even when i'm not even holding the mouse! I miss my ball mice... :'(

Accuracy and control just isn't possible with these mice. >:(

All of that is just so untrue: modern good mice are, actually, good, and you never get off the "carpet", or your ball stuck inside that hole (at least I don't  ;D), or whatever else the minuses of the "good-ol'" ball-mouse.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about there, but sure in some ways optical/L.A.S.E.R. mice are better, such as how you don't have to clean them. But with most things, there's a general rule that analog is better than digital. That's the way it's been for centuries. ;D

I loved the old ball mouse days, TILL IT FELL OFF THE TABLE AND CRASHED!!!!!

Ok, you need what the other guys said, mine is a Logitech (forgot model, and can't post pics either) Gaming mouse, paired up with a Logitech Gaming Keyboard (it shines light in the dark so it saves lamp energy).

Don't use wireless unless you have lots of intervening wires or playing with the big screen. Imagine playing and then at the important part, your mouse dies. That's why I have a wired mouse.

Laser Mice are good cuz they can go on any smooth surface.

Besides, grammatical check, "But with most things, there's a general rule that analog is better than digital."

You already said most so whats the need for general? Or the other way around? :P
