Topic : Is this Reality or Fantasy? ArmA 3 Engine
« on: February 09, 2011, 06:40:08 AM »
They said this is the US Military Simulation Game. The most realistic game ever made. I want to play, But ArmA 2 cannot work for my PC >-:

Not because my PC is no good, it can play Napoleon Total War with all Ultra settings.

ArmA series = The most Realistic Game ever made

Project Reality = The most Realistic Mod ever made

ArmA + Project Reality = Real life in war zone.

Looks good... But still not as good as Crysis!

And that game's 4 years old!

If the previous 2 Arma games are anything to go by, #3 will be bugged up the arse as well...

Crysis might have been impressive graphics wise, but you can't compare it to ArmA. The "levels" were MUCH smaller and it certainly doesn't factor in bullet drop, wind deflection, etc. Plus, with a fuckton of blur everything looks good.

Crysis does indeed have bullet drop...

But i must say, you are the only person i know of who thinks that those stupid blur effects look good...

Sure, you can directly infer from my post that having blur is my personal preference and I was not speaking in generalities  ::)

And Crysis' "bullet drop" is akin to every other fps "bullet drop" whereas ArmA makes in fact a real time simulation of the bullets flight path, calculating shed velocity, wind interference and gravitational pull.

Well, that sure is something... Maybe that's why it's so full of bugs...

I somehow get the impression you're always trying to rebut posts even when there's no point to make...

Anyhow, feel free to vote with your wallet and enjoy Bug-free mainstream experiences like Fallout:New Vegas or CoD:Black Ops or Flashpoint:Dragon Rising or the numerous other military simulators that compare to ArmA. Oh, there aren't any? Well in that case ArmA seems to perform quite well given that there aren't any competitors and that it isn't an AAA title. Needless to say that the patches have ironed out the vast majority of bugs but you surely know that.

btw, I hope that's game, not reality. If it was reality, that would mean that somebody (or something ) who controls me mind is really fucked  ;D

The game is complete when it's released... Patches mean nothing to me. (Except in the case of Eastern Front, of course...) Releasing overly-buggy games is inexcusable!
