About music!
« on: February 07, 2011, 08:51:22 PM »
I do not know who delivered the music in this game, but it is finally passed! May feel that it did not pass genuine Russians. I live in the former USSR country and know hundreds of songs they listened to in WW2!
If you want then I can give you!?!

Truly, the music is by no means a genuine one, - it's a song from a mildly stereotypical "western" film.
If the development team is ever going to consider changing it to some other, proper one, we (the russian speaking community members) could lay out quite a lot of suggestions on that matter, then the community could rate 'em in some poll, and choose the fittest.  :)

What's wrong with the current Soviet music? It's fantastic! Although, it would be better if it didn't completely replace the official Company Of Heroes music...

hymn to the red october is song made by basil poledorius  you can hear obvious american accent in the song because its was recorded with US NAVY Choir. Thats propably why Russians dont like it "Despite its being called the Red Navy Hymn, the song has never been affiliated with either the Navy of the Soviet Union nor the Russian Federation." according to russian anthems museum site i found in citation on wikipedia.

Hmm... O.K. then, if that's the case, then the music definitely needs a change!

We have our own music, I don't know why that shitty music from Red October hasn't been replaced yet.

I just hope they don't change the other song, it's a great choice and goes perfectly with the vCoH music.

Enemy at the Gates themes is nice to start with, but it then it gets to loud to fit in with the menu. Most people don't hang around on the menu long enough to be subjected to it, but still :P

We also had a nice version of Polyushko Pole that I felt would've fitted. For some reason I got rid of the video off of Youtube, you can hear it in Apex's old 'credits' video.

Try something like this

'The Sacred War', it would be perfect for the opening.

The Sacred War sung by Russian Choir with Fedoseev [nofollow]

Good that music is powerful, sounds like 1,000,000 soldiers rushing burning Berlin!
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

Everyone loves The Sacred War. The original soundtrack by Icarus is great though. Wait for that.
