Control the AI?
« on: January 29, 2011, 05:16:22 AM »
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to control the AI and myself at the same time?

Thanks!

The attack here, defend here and cap here pings (red, orange, blue) can be used to control the com somewhat. It's not very responsive though so only change it every few minutes as required and not constantly.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

Yeah as Godlikedennis says, use the markers on the minimap, attack here, defend here, cap here, and the AI will mostly slowly respond to it rushing all its troops there.

You should also be careful not to accidentally give the A.I. instructions, because as far as i know, there is no way to cancel it and return them to normal, so you will have to babysit them afterwards by telling them to move and attack...

And there doesn't seem to be any difference between the 3 instructions, since they all tell the A.I. to go there, and that's what they do. I think it's more for multiplayer than skirmish, really...

Do you mean, that AI will actually loose the ability to show any initiative after receiving ANY map order from the player?  :o
'Cause that would really suck.

Yeah, that's what they do! You tell them to go somewhere, and they move just about all their units there, kill everything that's red, and just sit there... They will sometimes have a few other units running around, trying to capture points, but they don't really do anything. So you have to give them another order elsewhere, otherwise you will get swamped by your enemies everywhere else. Particularly in 4v4, since on your side there will be 3 players all grouped up somewhere, likely getting pummeled by arty, whilst 4 semi-intelligent enemies are taking over the rest of the map...
