17lbers are extremely good against the KT, whether it be the emplacement, fireflies, comets or achilles'. Who knew 2 or 3 dedicated anti-tank platforms would do well against a tank?

It was more that 2 Achilles in hull-down w/ brit over-repair and command tank actually beat a jagdtiger (also a tank destroyer) in a straight up match. Jagdtiger did manage to kill one of them.

Considering the relative resources put into the different sides, and the limit of 1 ever on Jagdtigers, it felt the achilles were a tad much.

I should mention that the main complaint is from my friend, who loves big big tanks, whereas I prefer large groups of weak tanks.

ahh tank destroyers vs each other is a different ball game. i can imagine the difficulties taking on the achilles in hull-down and overreapair, but i wonder what led up to this event. do you have the replay?
could post it if there is a balance problem folks will be able to see.

Partisans lose their sabotage doctrine ability upon construction of a medic truck was kinda annoying as I was using it alot and didnt wanna lose the medic. :(

comments of Soviets during of a year beta testing.
I want to write my experience of the soviet faction playing with my mate in 1v1 in 50+ games. This is my personal oppinion and experience of the faction.
there are too many non doctrinal units have than other faction, and every one of them is upgradable. Whis i find this a problem i will tell later, just do some comparison:
HQ: Ingenery, NKVD squad, Upgraded Ingenery (3 units to build)
Barracks: conscripts, stelky, guards (*2= its just 6 units)
Support barracks: Mortar, Tank hunters, snipers, Zis AT gun, Medic truck (*2 = 8+1 unis to build)
Tank Hall: T70, T90, T34, SU85, IS2 (*2 =7 units to build)
Total units: 25 unit plus doctrinals

So 25 unis to build for this faction, and I didn’t count the doctrinal units. My point is:
American have: 5 inf units build plus doctrinal call-ins, 7 vehicles (plus doctrinal support unis)
Total unis: 12 unis plus doctrinals.

I won’t list the other factions units, but it’s waaay too many counters for beating the german army, and it seems like they just dropped in the game and the doctrines don’t have necceserly to choose, becouse with this arsenal, the sovites can beat the crap out from the jerrys. my point that there must be some doctrinal upgrades, like for example the PE can’t have the AP upgrade, just with the Tank hunter doctrine, so it must be some similar method to do either the russian faction. For example it’s not worth building the T-34 tank, just the upgunned SU100, beacouse it’s cheaper. I don’t really got any suggestions yet, but I will look after the warfare the russans had (old newspapers, and books), but it really bothers me, like in the Relic factions I could turn the tide wit US with 3 squads with doctrinal support, when it seems I lost the match, I can’t feel that playing against the soviets. I write this for a positive critic, so no offense or anithing, but I fear when the vCoH balance patch will come out I won’t play with this mod anymore, becouse it cose me frustrations. I know it’s hard to create a faction in coh, but I really like this mod and like to play fun with it. But it’s the teams call, I’m not a developer so, all I can do is make suggestions. Anyone felt the same way?

No, I never felt this way, though I play wehr a lot.
Germs can really make a come-back at tier 4 like no other faction can. Their heavy armor is overwhelming (that goes for call-in panthers, worth the army, and they cost only 500 mp per each!).
Purchasable vet really delivers as well (and it's non-doctrinal).
Until just recently, sovs could not recrew, and their basic units are fairly weak, binding you to the necessity of upgrading whichever one you are going to rely on, unlike with any other faction, which has it decent from the start.
Putting it all together, I would say, sovs are, MOSTLY, fine the way they are. Though some nerfs are required, but it really has nothing to do with the variety of their units.

ADD-ON: Besides, your opinion about sov upgrades appears to be somewhat false, since that way you should really view each US basic infantry squad, upgraded with bar or grenades as a different one (unit, it is)  ;)
Same goes for AP AT-gun rounds, 76 shermans, etc. as well.

Thanks IJoe for the reply. Yes the soviets are quite balanced now, and you can grab the commies ball in the beginning, but my mate is damn good player, BUT I could turn sometimes the battle with relic factions. Maybe I dig up with strategies forum. When I play with the soviets, there are a lots of lots of units, that when I figured out what counter I'd like to use, my mate is already made a choice. And when a PE Panthers come in, or in the last match the King Tiger (at the last time, the HQ was deastroyed), there were 3 SU100 and took down the KT for about 4 seconds. If I recall I did screwed up the build order, but the KT is the best Jerry tank in the game, so I was a bit upset.
