hey guys, i really am excited to give this mod a whirl. Firstly,imm horrible with technology so, you may need to write this out in crayon from me lol. I downloaded the files or whtever to play the game directly from your site. But when i click on it on my desktop, the comp says it is an unkown file and doesnt kno how to open it...it says it has to find the appropriate program or whatever!? iunno im totally lost. what should i do?

Did you download the installer from ModDB? Perhaps it didn't download properly. It should be an executable file. Please try again.

i went to the site you just posted and tried to download it, but it doesnt download AS an .exe file for some reason, it downloads as somthing all effed up. bloody comps lol. Im downloading it again, but its the exact same thing as before. It even asked me to "replace" the file when i went to download it. What does this mean? I just wanna kill some russians!!!!

How about you upload a screenshot:
1. lefttclick on the "EF_Setup1.2.0.0_FULL.exe"
2. use "printscreen" button on your keyboard
3. rightclick on your desktop
4. choose "create .bmp file" (pixel picture)
5. rightclick on that file, you've just created
6. choose "open with" -> "microsoft paint"
7. in the paint programme window press "ctrl"+"v"
8. in "file menu" choose "save as"
9. print in random (short) name, choose .jpg format, press "save"
10. open your internet browser window
11. find this topic
12. choose "reply"
13. choose "additional options"
14. insert the path to the printscreen file (smth like C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\desktop\[filename].JPG
15. leftclick "post"
16. stop being such a rusofob, at least here, after all CoH is just a game.

Could you check the MD5 hash of the file?

Use HashTab.

MD5: 7114F2D4C87016F49BAD8F2B37473795

You can check it after installing HashTab going to properties(right click->Properties->File Hashes or something like that).

If the hash is the same rename it from "file.part" to "file.exe"(or what extension it has?).

k, weird, i just remained the file to .exe and it seems to have worked. im intsalling now, anythingt else i shall need to do inorder to play this thing seemlessly? i downloaded the file again from your link that you posted, any updates im missing or anything? I have the latest COH game, and i play it through steam....so am i good to go?

PS: game installed, but cuz i play with steam, i cant seem to find the damn game to play it, How to i actaully lauch the game? There is no icon on the desktop to play it? only the icon for the installation?

Post Merge: December 21, 2010, 01:33:41 AMAight further updates, i went through, found the damn Ef launcher, everytime i click it, a screen sdhows up sayin its checkin for updates, then it tells me i got to install such n such update. I do, and EVERYTIME i do, it asks if i want a shortcut and if i want the mod? I of course check these off, and it does so, asks if i want to launch the game, i say yes...then it doesnt...Im hopelessly lost lol

First:
Check CoH directory option in the Launcher settings menu. Be sure it has the right path. Also check if you installed EF on the correct folder, just see if EF files (i.e. Eastern_Front.module and EF_Launcher.exe) are inside your CoH Directory(c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\).

In order to continue you should be able to run the game.

Second:
You must update your game in order to fix some bugs, so either go to c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\EF_Updates and reinstall each patch you downloaded or download them from here.
