Wo sind hier alle Deutschen? Where are all Germans here? I just saw one or two! :o
So im coming from northern Germany east to Hamburg, in a village counting 4000 inhabitants.. pretty calm here..
And Werwolf, you're right about Germany, isn't like 50 years ago..  ;)
My house is directly next to a left military training area, you can find old ammuninitons, tank tracks, bunkers and lots of shooting areas there..
Cool...  ;) :D

Aside from you, we have LordRommel, Aouch and Mertypro. Pauly3 is also German.

I had the opportunity to visit a few of my distant relatives in Lübeck a couple of years ago. Some of my grandfathers and grand-uncles who are still alive are WW2 vets and three or four of them used to be active members of HIAG. They were still able to recall the time when they proudly called themselves as "Prussians" and held several estates (my family traces its roots from illegitimate offspring of the House of Holstein-Gottorp), which they all lost after the war. A lot of our Junker relatives were also massacred by the Soviets on their own lands. :(

Sadly, the grand Deutschland of old is now gone and is not likely to return, ever again. For my family at least, we lost our pride along with our titles and ancestral homes.  :(

You know, my family also lost it's whole possession in eastern Germany when the Soviets came (my family owned a big piece of land somewhere in Mecklemburg-Vorpommern, including 4 villages, a big forest, a lake, many fields and a big manor..).
The Soviets murdered my great-grandmother (the mother of my fathers father) when she tried to flee.. my grandfather managed to evade and took many big portraits of old family members with him.
At the same time my great-grandfather died of pneumonia in a military hospital in Heide, which also in Holstein. He was brought there with one of the last cattle cars, some days before he had fought in East-Prussias pocket to defend Königsberg..
Today some stupid idiots came to our former familyposession and installed a museum there, displaying some odd "great halls of knights" and silly stuff like that.. if they knew i was the successor of the former owners  ;)
My grandfather is still alive and tells sometimes about the dark times he lived trough.

Small world... my family's related to the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Schwerin line's gone to dust.

...With fiefs like those, you could've been a Freiherr;)
