Memory Leak?
« on: September 22, 2010, 07:13:20 PM »
I dunno if this is the MOD or the game itself but...
As I have been playing the longer I stay in a single game the slower and slower it gets, response time getting a lot laggier and even scrolling slows down.  My computer can handle the game just fine, that is not the problem.  Is anyone else getting this issue?

1. Since the Soviets have lots of troops, the game has to process each and every soldier.

2. The more craters and blown up marks there are the slower it is.

3. The Game automatically saves your replay for you, so its Gathering all the Data into a folder also making it slow.
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

Most recent time it was British and Normal Germans and for the majority of the game there were no explosives.
None the less thats not enough stuff to cause the game to lag the way it is late in game.
ALSO if I save, close, and start back up it will run normal

Remember that Company of Heroes has a parasite bundled, well kind of... it's name is RelicDownloader, if you used it to update your game, and didn't delete the downloaded files after install them, that app is sharing the files over user around the world than needs them(p2p), I mean that use RelicDownloader as well to update CoH. Also it uses some memory, tiny perhaps compared to CoH itself, but it could be used for CoH if it wasn't present.

Also background process, services all of them needs memory as well, do you know how many process load on start up on your pc? You can check it on start menu->run->msconfig->start up, but do not change anything if you don't know how it works ;).

If you use to download stuff while playing also affects, and as Seeme stated, the game records itself.

Rename the Relic Downloader folder and it won't start. I hate that thing.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

You can rename Relic Downloader exe file, but if you have Steam CoH it won't work... Whenever Steam caught you off guard will restore the file.
