The Funkwagon
« on: September 04, 2010, 04:01:42 AM »
Its the most underused unit in the game... even the Leutnant Gottlieb is seen more frequently in the game. I propose the unit should be given what PE lacks most... Placing mines. They have the muni HT yes...but its slow, clumsy and you cant even queque the building order of mines because of the cooldown!
I propose that the Funkwagon should get the place Mine ability and should do it faster then the average muni HT... why you might ask?
-most factions have more then one unit to do mine placement and CAN QUEQUE up the building order of mines
-The Funkwagon is a almost a dead unit if seen by statistic's of usage(that 220 manpower is much needed for reinforcements and for fighting units-which the Funkwagon isnt)

The funkwagen is very powerful when used right. It doesn't always steal that many resources, but it absolutely crushes the enemy population cap and it reveals infantry in the FoW in quite a large radius, which is excellent in conjunction with hummels etc. It can also pop out goliaths which are a great unit.

Giving mine placement to the funkwagon  would make the muni truck pointless (like it was) especially as Dennis said, it can also build goliaths. Funkwagon should be able to camo when stationary in my opinion, but since it wasn't on the expert lost.

I also never understood the reason for cooldown for mine placement

Might have something to do with the fact the HT has terrible pathing. It would be difficult with that thing to make a line of mines anyway.

I disagree that would make the Muni HT useless... insta recharge for all abilities which make use of muni and reinforcements earns a place in my book.
Camo isnt a bad idea mates....

the funkwagen could be better. I never use it since the manpower is much better used on other units.

I like the camo idea, but the ability to place mines would be a bit much. Besides you would need to move it around if you wanted to place mines, but that would be negating it's primary role, wouldn't it?

I like the idea for the camo but not the mines. I don't know if could be possible to add an upkeep penalization while the camo is activated., in other way could be op.

how about depending on the doctrine:
Camo, mine placement (50 muni like the US armoured car), or an upgrade for a machine gun?

Well, maybe just the same way as Cromwell's Flank Speed is reducing Fuel outcome for a while...

That won't happen. EF won't modify vanilla units if they're not bugged(i.e. M10 and it's going to be fixed) or if they aren't in the experts' list; also if land mines doesn't fit, let alone an MG.

EDIT: Strictly, neither camo for Funkwagon would be implemented, but if could fits better than the others upgrades.
