Munitions + a crash
« on: September 02, 2010, 05:40:47 PM »
Lately I've noticed that my munitions are not being gained correctly. The amount of munitions I gain per minute is not the same as the value I would get from the areas I control. I haven't noticed getting more than I should, but I certainly have noticed that I get considerably less than I should. Last map I played my munitions per minute was lower than just one of my munitions points. Yesterday my income was increased to zero. Luckily I had already researched a sufficient amount of upgrades to actually win the skirmish.

I tried taking a screenshot of the bug, but the game crashed when I pressed print screen. The UI turned all brown and into huge pixels. I'll post this in the "If your game crashes, post here".

It's not a bug, it's stated in the changelog:

...
* T70/T90/ZiS AT gun/Mortar/Firebase/ZiS-5 Medic Truck/Katyusha upkeep set at 0.007 munitions per tick (3.36 per min).
* T34-76/T34-85/SU-85/SU-100/Lend-Lease Sherman/KV-2 set upkeep at 0.014 munitions per tick (6.72 per min).
* IS-2/ISU-152 upkeep set at 0.018 munitions per tick (8.64 per min).
...

Aha, I see.

I must say that it's kinda overkill that it can reduce you to zero income rate though.

Indeed, but normally at that time your forces should be enough to win the match.

I noticed that the munition loss becomes quite a big deal, especially on maps like Kharkov.

I spent 90% of the play time with zero munitions as I had to cap all munitions points to even sustain just 2-3 upgrades and 1 vehicle which drained my munitions. I played the map for like 30 minutes, and the situation was pretty desperate from start to end.

I for one say reduce the amount units drain.

Yeah, I registered to this forum to mention the zero ammo rate. Didn't know that some units require ammo upkeep. Not sure if it meant to be in the game, but upgraded AT gun crew of 5, sometimes the gun gets destroyed but one man survives. Funnily enough, you can reinforce it till its a 5 man squad and that squad can cap spare AT guns lying around. But I had a crash while doing that.

As far as I know the crew of the AT guns is 3, at vet 2 they earn a 4th. The 5th men indicates that you're playing with an outdated release, unless I forgot to watch how many soldiers the AT gun has in 1.2. Besides the ammo rate was included from 1.20 looks like you have 1.10/1.11 installed.

Upgraded AT Guns have a 4th member by default and gain a 5th at 2nd vet.

Thanks Rizz, I didn't noticed it. So, now I realize this is a real Bug.

In that case, I think just need to delete the property of capture weapons of that soldier on the ebps(I don't remember in which folder are the individual units that forms each squads - sbps or ebps). I wonder, if after applying that change, the ZiS upgraded will have the same behavior?(the lone soldier of course, not recrew&crashing of course). I'll test it later ;D.

Toyed around with upgraded veteran ZiS crew on a compstomp skirmish and was able to get the game to crash by getting the "reformed" crew to try and capture things. After selecting the crew, the mouse cursor shows the capture icon on crewed weapons lying around (machineguns, mortars, AT guns, etc). They will run up to the guns and then the game freezes.

offtopic: mildly surprising but i guess it makes soviet AT guns quite hardy when you run the last man back and start reinforcing. After the 5th man pops out, an extra click on the reinforce button makes a brand new AT gun magically appear.

Again it is not a problem. Your units just got a upkeep cost for example the katusya you called in.
