I know that pistols weren't used as often, but what are your favorite sidearms of World War II?

Mauser, I love the unique look to it and plus the fact that it was the inspiration for the fictional DL44 blaster that Han Solo uses.  :D  :P

Walther PPK, the original 007 gun.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.

I own several WW2 vintage pistols, including a P-38 (heirloom) and a broomhandle C96 Mauser. However, my favorite sidearm is my Luger P-17 Artillerie (Stoeger & Co.) model...it's the one pistol I always take to the firing range or to reenactments. It's such a beautiful work of art---elegant, well-proportioned, and fits well in my palm. Fairly accurate, too. 8)

my Top 3:

My Number 3 is the P38 for being a well balanced pistol

My Number 2 is the Mauser C96 for having a big clip and possibility to make an smg out of it

My Number 1 is the Luger just for combining effectivness with a huge amount of style

I would rather choose the Webley, as far as I've been told the Luger was prone to jamming a lot at battlefield. My second choice would be the  C96 Mauser.

I think the reason it jammed was because the ejector thing opped out to eject aspent shell and dirt easilly got inside it.
Still not many people are fans of the M1911? The US military still uses it from time to time, the .45 ACP has some serious power behind it and the gun to me just looks so stylish.

Well, the websley has lower capacity and higher recharge time but the .455 Mk II is strong too ;D!

I wish I could find that clip of that guy who shot himself with a luger in Band of Brothers, just for those luger fans. ;)
