This thing is a beast with a 203mm Long Range Cannon.
I think it would fit the Russian Breakthrough Tactics very nicely  ;D

Interesting...however, the Su-14 SPG was a prototype armed with a naval gun, much like the Maus or Ratte. I don't think it had ever undergone field trials, much less used in an actual battle.  ;)

As such, it may be ineligible as a Soviet reward unit. Why is there a need to bring in even more artillery?? The Soviets already have Katyushas, gun emplacements, 120mm mortars, ZiS AP/AM/AT guns, GoW, artillery call-ins etc. They're already powerful enough atm...adding an SPG like the Su-14 would be OP and ruin the balance. Heck, any unit with a gun like that can strike targets from all the way across a 4v4 map (if you take into consideration the actual specs from similar naval guns).  ::)

LOL... if that's the case, then the Schwerer Gustav and Dora railway guns, the Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte, and the Karl-Geräte SPMs should be added to the Ostheer as well! (just kidding, Lord Rommel! hehe)  :P

I should make a topic and say the word "ratte" and see what happens.
The Russians think there sooo tough, wait till the Ostheer comes...

I see. ...sources, please? ;) Even if it were true, prototype-production and one or two isolated incidents would still be insufficient grounds to merit inclusion into the Soviet faction. As the devs always say, it has to be "symbolic" in the sense that it has to represent/acknowledge a significant portion of the military might of the entire faction (i.e. M4 Sherman for US; or PzKpfw. IV for both WH and PE).  ;)

The same also applies for petitions to include the IS-3, captured Panther tanks, etc.

EDIT: "devs" = I'm quoting Lord Rommel's posts :P

Well what we say is that is has to be more than a prototype vehicle really...

IS-3 and T-44 for example were built in considerable numbers before the war ended and its still debatable if they saw action. Soviet war records are rather poor and its rather unlikely that in the closing months of the war the germans would notice or receive any report about these 2 tanks which to be fair resemble the IS-2 and T-34 too closely anyways
To my mind that's not really much different to the dosen M26 which saw little combat in the last 2months of the war, the unique Berger Tiger or the Ostwind(which some sources say only 7 ever saw combat!). As such I think they would have a place in COH considering hardcore historic accuracy isn't as important as having cool units.
Its not the same as say the 6 CENTURION Mk 1, with 17 pdr and 20mm co-axial cannon who although were rushed in Europe in May45' its 100% certain they didn't see any action

...so this probably means we'll have other things (Su-14, T44 and IS-3 spamming) to worry about, besides Katyusha spamming...sigh  :(

Unless the Su-14 is included as a reward-unit replacer for the Katyusha, the awesome and overpowering long-range Soviet artillery lineup would then make it pointless to play as WH, PE or even OH... you'd be constantly bombarded by über-units that would be way beyond your reach. Not to mention GoW :'(

We don't have any plans for any such unit for the Soviets...it was more like an example...

Also, you need to get out of the 'box thinking' of...'because its a 203mm gun it will be sooooo OP'
Wtf? We can make it do the same damage as a rifle grenade or as a V1...we give it whatever stats make it balanced
