AI player "bugs" with soviets, and a bit more.

when I played with a soviet ally, I was wondering why he stopped making tanks. It seems to happen with other production buildings-(didnt test that) when you upgrade a unit that is currently being produced, it will halt at 100% finished production, but wont leave the factory. This is what effectively halts their production.
It can be seen on ally´s factory as white line above the brown one which shows hitpoints.

Then there goes the KV2 spam... while having nothing else (could be capped imo) so they dont spam 6 of them and the moment one dies, another one is at the edge of the map.

I used search, but didnt find anything on that topic. So here I am :-)

Also not sure, but is it only me that IS-2 needs to get closer to fire at a StuG IV ? It seems because IS-2 is a large unit (like 17-pdr. range was increased to 64 in one patch, it could be sniped by either PaK 38 or Marder, even though they have had all 60 range) it needs to have range increased, because targeting comes from unit center, not the gun itself. This is why smaller units have an advantage even when the same range. I believe both of the mentioned above have 40 range, 40 is sure not only a bit short ranged for its 122 mm , but its large size makes it even worse. Also that would give it some edge above T-34/85, which is imo generally more cost effective.

Id consider if nothing else, giving it range increase as veterancy bonus :-) Panther outranges it, shoots slowly, its still the most costly tank and its dps is very unreliable due to slow firing and questional accuracy.

Also there is something very annoying with priority of tanks. Especially when you try to outcircle an AT gun, all you need is have a tank close by, you wont do it and lose your tank to AT gun, because the AI priority while moving targets evemy tank, not the more dangerous AT gun which needs quick silencing. Dont get me into rock paper, I believe outflanking should suffice, since - AT gun is cheap, low pop cost recrewable (except as we know due to bug, for Soviets)

Edit: ISU on the "big map" is seen as a purple object

HI, this is my first time on the forum. I really like the EF mod, but i d like to report an AI bug i noticed.

During mid game, if AI pick the no1 doctrine, propaganda war, after he has the karyusha (not sure about the name) artillery track, he keeps spamming these, instead of building a well rounded army.
So after wave of attacks, he loses most of his infantry and AT weapons only to spam artillery. (not only spams, but most of the time it drives it through enemy fire).
Therefore, he becomes 'useless' having defenceless artillery tracks and I end up winning (i was playing Wehrmacht) long games even though Soviets have a major advantage.

In other words, plz fix the AI bug with no1 doctrine (so that they dont spam artillery and do NOTHING) or just deny use of no1 doctrine on AI.

And another little thing. when i played as Soviets, i hired the 'medical track'. It as an ability that it is supposed to lock down the vehicle and heal nearby infantry. When used, it heals infantry but i expected the track to become immobilized, but it will keep moving. Plz check it out.

I hope that you take my comments into account.

I've found an other bug: the AI is able to retreat its units, whereas the player can not! If you want, I can load up the replay or simply make a Screenie...

The AI retreats automatically, if its unit is being suppressed (the red colour^^)

That's true the Soviet AI is able to retreat I came here to report it but I saw your report ;)

I always play as the PE but when the Soviet AI progresses enough to get the Lend-Lease Sherman, there is no turret. The tank commander shooting the machine gun ot top is visible but no turret. A small one to include in the next patch or look into.

Griptonix, as was stated in numerous other threads, this can be solved by turning certain settings on a higher level (I think the shaders).

Well I don't read every other thread, just the ones closest to the problems I encounter. But now I know other people have the same problem

I am playing the game and for me, the russians can't retreat, but for the AI the russians not only retreat, but they do it as soon as my MGs are on them, totally not fair, especially since they come back with the same units and take out my MGs with a sniper. They inf rush and I lose the game, you gotta fix this.

lahobo1: as was stated in this and other threads like it, this is to enable the propaganda of the WM. With a bit of luck, retreat will be able to be used when version 1.20 is available.

this is listed as a "not fixable bug" by the developers. they didn't explain why.
