A possible upgrade to experienced infantry units to conserve ammo which increases accuracy but is weak against fast moving infantry such damage against MG teams would increase slightly and would only be available to upgraded infantry eg. red banner and would have a cool down time which is long enough. Or maybe it is part of a tree and while active all infantry units shoot more accurately but take longer to fire but your munitions is increased during the time the ability is active by a certain percent.

Another idea to the faction could be an infantry squad just holding the soviet flag and would increase the damage of linked units or units with the territory. I understand red banner have it but why not have a squad that is just dedicated to it but have no guns or maybe a upgrade for the command squad to have this.

Also introducing the Maxim machine gun not as a unit but replacing the MG's in the MG nests

Also the DP-28 skin I believe a friend told me is still a Bren model is it possible to get the proper skin. Maybe you know of this just wondering whats going on

What I would love to see in COH in general and EF is Melee combat for all infantry units which would enhancing the gaming experience of EF

Stabbing Commandos or Stormtroopers?
Noone should be able to defeat elite troops with knifes.

Why should a banner increase dmg or accuracy? A private with it a banner isnt an educated officer from Sandhurst.

Soviet MG teams is another bad idea. With no recrew, no retreat and no self healing (vet1 MG-42) these guns wuld be too easy to recapture by the Germans.

Which is why you make it a 5 man recrew so it costs him a whole squad to do so. Agree on your other points though.

What are you talking about MG teams I said replace the MG nests (the base defense ones) model with a Maxim machine gun with a tripod instead.

Knifing well it couldn't just be limited to that also bayonets or rifle butting not just knifing that would be. If you have seen something like Empire: Total war games that what I am talking about when I say Melee.

Talking about the red banner would be an officer squad attached to a unit or assist in the sector. Tactically would boost the moral of the troops to fight harder and increase damage and possibly force the troops to run in like conscripts. The commander squad with red banner would be the best idea

Alternatively when retreat is introduced have something called Stalin's Order in a  tree or something like that where your troops cannot retreat for a period of time but charge and/or increase damage/defense of the unit

Maybe retreat could be applied to only retreat to the nearest outpost (if applicable) being a defense point

My last post was in direct reply to Paciat, sorry if it confused you. Melee is not only a terrible idea but pretty darn hard for the modders to code and animate. There should be a red banner in the command squad but only for visual effect. We want to try and discourage blobbing, not encourage it. The "stalin's order" of yours is similar to the ability in the left urban tree, where they cannot move. Once retreat is added though, I would like to see your version + reduced movement but not no movement. At the moment they are a little bugged and don't seem to rotate to fight enemies. They can only fire in front of them.

It was just a suggestion, it would take COH to a whole new level and made it difficult to code the "Not one step back" Ability in the urban tree should allow reduced movement agreed. Also retreat should only not apply for conscripts and ingency squads

Just imagine the Bren is lend-leased.

But really, it shouldn't be too hard to change a "fin" shaped magazine to a disk.

Yeah, calling in the airborne supply drop and using the flares to run super fast and knife people from a screen length away...

Newbie posts an interesting idea. Why not replace "Not One Step Backward" in Urban, or add as an ability in an Ostheer doctrine, a power that increases units' close range accuracy. It would be pretty original, maybe slightly similar to inspired assault, and could be quite interesting in a battle. It would fit in with the Urban doctrine as an up-close gritty battle and would add a new dynamic to the tree.

When we are talking about changing gameplay, new animations and stuff. Is it possible to make it so that infantry can somehow climb over small fences and other small obstructions.

It can be sort of frustrating realizing that your soldiers are stopped by a tiny fence, and you have to throw a grenade to get trough or run a truck through the fence.

That would really just take the tactical away, from a maplayout... fences, walls etc are tactical obstrucktions in a map. without it you would take away alot of cool gameplay from COH.
