Election in UK
« on: April 23, 2010, 07:05:08 AM »
I was checking bbc and saw this
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/election_2010/8280050.stm
I was shocked! I just wanted to say something about the 13% of people in the UK who changed their ideals for the Liberal Democrats and how they are now only 1% behind the conservatives! 31% of England likes them
(this is not meant to start a war of politics admins)

England? You mean Britain... I doubt this thread will start a politics war... unless we have any hardcore BNP fanboys here that need to go eat shit.

In the past, Voters who would like to vote Lib Dem usually don't vote Lib Dem because they feel it would be a wasted vote. Lib Dems last few leaders have been pathetic, now though with the demise of Labour and the re-emergence of the Conservatives, Labour Voters who don't want another 5 years of Gordon Brown and hate the prospect of a Conservative government are turning to the Lib Dems for some sort of salvation... the rise in their popularity also means that the people who would normally want to vote Lib Dem but don't or abstain for fear of wasting their vote are now going to vote Lib Dem as well.

Personally, I think this is fantastic.

I love it! Just wasn't sure I could say that that's why I downplayed my own views, but yes I hope the Liberal Democrats do win, cause Labour has tried and the Conservatives....

It seems to me that conservative ideals are increasingly becoming more popular.... for some odd reason.
Funny...... It always happens in Britain before it happens in America.

The woman was a bigot though... I find it funny that people will quite happily listen Cameron or Griffin lie and not question them, but when Gordon speaks the truth people tear him apart.

It seems to me that conservative ideals are increasingly becoming more popular.... for some odd reason.
Funny...... It always happens in Britain before it happens in America.

People will always do what you tell them. The nations largest Newspaper (The Sun) is owned by an Australian Media-mogul billionaire who has a lot of gain from a Conservative government and is thusly using his Media power to manipulate people into voting the way he wants them to.

Appealing to the mass of nationalistic, reactionary twats who populate this country is always a vote winner, especially in a World Cup year. Hopefully when England eventually lose, all this nationalism will blow over... shame that's not before the election though.

I'm voting Lib Dem on the day (which is also my birthday) even though they don't entirely share the same views as me... if the Socialist Party stood any kind of chance of getting in, i'd be voting for them instead. However, they have no chance, neither do the Greens, Gordon Brown has no chance either... he's really fumbling in the debates and people really just dislike him and Cameron, despite covering up his obvious homophobia and flawed sugary social policies, still wants to shaft everyone that doesn't own a Luxury Yacht. Clegg is the only guy left. Sure, he's not exactly poor, sure, he's probably posher than Cameron, sure, he still supports big business, and sure, I don't agree with all their policies, but they really are the lesser of 3 evils.

Ahhhhhhhhh, fuck. Camoron got in. I wouldn't like to be poor and English right now, because for the next 5 years you're going to be getting financially raped.

Next step... devolution and a Scottish republic. I refuse to be part of a Conservative nation.
