Question on Performance
« on: February 14, 2010, 04:03:26 PM »
Alright so I downloaded this mod, played it and it's amazing. But I have a question about it. If I play this mod with anything more than 2 people it will start running slow. Now I've narrowed it down to the Stalin Organ, the 2nd tier heavy mortar team, and the red banner strelky as the main fps killers. What I was wanting to know is if you used very high quality models and such for those units which I can hardly be mad at, or if there is some sort of issue causing the meshes or what not to be inefficient.

{EDIT} And in case it was needed. I have the latest and greatest intel (Still a piece of shit) which is the x4500HD, but my concern is that the game runs about as slow as it does when I run RC_Realism with 8 people, but that's because of no cap limit. And this has a cap limit and cannot run decently sometimes with 4 people.

It I think that it is because of the model mixing technique used to make certain units.

As rude as your statement was. I must agree, I'm in the process of getting the funds to do so. But it will take several weeks or maybe even a month or so.

It I think that it is because of the model mixing technique used to make certain units.

I believe I know what you mean. Now we can leave it at that or if you will, I want to know if it has to do with the use of Unified Shaders and the rendering of the model mixing? Or is it quite literally a plethora of models reshaped and placed together to create other models?
