Red Army Seems to have lost the war
« on: January 31, 2010, 02:35:34 AM »
Seems the nerf went a bit far. On top the bugs u really hurt some units like the ISU. I just played a game were I sent a supported ISU and it got destroyed by a marder and shreck squad in about 25 seconds. Also at gun crews have a ridiculous reinforcement cost of like 110 mp per guy which makes them great targets for enermy snipers. Sharpshooters no longer shoot when in camoflarge which means alot more micro. Tank hunters are useful now but they still cant actually hunt tanks if the enermy has descent micro. IS2 is perfect just dont nerf it anymore and su100 is usefull. dont know just wondering if redtide was fixed.

Yeahh, patch to mess it even more.
Instead of changing the physics they should modify the costs of upgrades,
units cost more and more and you can`t keep them alive (or reinforced) no matter what. If there is an Axis player with 1/2 brain - he wont let you for a moment peace  - just hunt&kill individual squads until he drains your MP, knowing you want be able to compensate, take advantage in inf, decaap fuel to deny you tanks, and by-by Soviets...

Capt. Malashenko - right to the point!!
1st tank will never leave the factory, if you d/h fuel, or it will be   shoot practice target for 2 or m.b. 3 stugs.

Glad I`m not the only one Zebra  ;) , I`m not saying everything was "perfect" before, but this last patch brought more problems then solutions.
No matter what - Soviets will fight to the last!!!  >:(

hmhm.. i dont really understand why you named your topic like that. The ISU has to get nerfed, this game is still a 2nd ww game and not totally fictional. It is about balancing, but the ISU wasnt even compareable to a kingtiger - talking about armor. making a tank - which is 20 tons leighter and has at some parts just half of the KT armor, stronger than it, is just too much. About the tanks yea, they are stronger now, so why the hell did you name your topic like that? that makes no sense.

Other things were also balancing issues. The team gotta find the right balance of balance ;) - and they are doing well atm.
Its a hard job for them to weak their own faction for sure, and some of them surely dont wanna see that. But i think that the profesional beta tester know what has be changed. And yet, i just agree to them.

Please cool down, this is balancing.

Venoxxis - I respect your opinion and your right for many things (not just in this post) but PLEASE can we leave the fuc*in ISU-152 already.
Everyone keep repeating ISU this ISU that - like there are millions in the game, ISU are not OP at all - in fact they are way to easy to destroy - only thing everyone is disturbed with is his damage, and as for armor - ISU has NO bounce, this means every hit will make max dmg, it`s only deadly when properly supported, I don`t know for you - but I don`t see that much often.
Soviets are week in inf and even early armor (lets leave uber IS-2 and ISU for a moment) and need to compensate with larger numbers - Axis get exp faster and tech up pretty fast - so everyone stop repeating how Soviets are OP only because you see more Soviet squads on field then yours.

yea so lets cool down now captn.
lets try this version of the mod widely, so we will see what got to be changed still. There were already some nice steps forward from the mod team, and yet they didnt go one step too far.
We all want this mod to be balanced, but balancing is hard work. Especially from a different view.. we gotta try to communicate as good as possible to find the best mixxed up solution.. noone really knows what makes it balanced, but maybe we all together know it.

I`m all for balance and I never state something unless I can`t back it up.
Units are more expensive and still useless if not deployed in large numbers, and those large numbers are no longer an option, this last patch is more a setback - then an improvement and it raises more problems then answers.
It might not seam that way now - but in time it will

It is a setback for the soviets. And a improvement about balance balance.  Im playing this game with very experienced guys, and that was the first version of the mod which they called in a way balanced.

How do you play it? 1v1, 2v2? It`s one thing to balance - complete other to nerf everything.
I play this game 24/7 for sole purpose of helping making it better.
Setback for the Soviets? hardly, put Brits+Soviets and Soviets will always prevail, the only improvement is for Axis players , in 1v1 they can rape Soviets now, especially if they get to in mid and late game.

Malashenko the new patch once it is working is very reasonable.  Its not a nerf against the soviets.  AT are vastly increased in usefulness, the IS2 is easier to get out, the SU85 and SU100 are finally worth the money, the T70 has a purpose and some survivability, and the command squad's sniper detect ability will reduce the impact of wehr snipers.

These are all buffs above.  They specifically reduce wehr sniper power, increase ability to counter puma/ac spam with tank hunters, and give a counter to stug/marder/hetzer spam with SUs.

You have to agree that sniper arty was massively OP.  You also have to agree that upgunned strelkys were OP.

"with my teammate" Why don't you play 1vs1? I have also good teammates lvl 16 and more ranked 1vs1. This is too easy. You should have asked him for a dual.  :P ;D
